I am guessing this is the Z3TA+2 trial version for PC. The full stand alone version writes standard wave files at either 16 for 32bit so I doubt it is a codec issue. Please describe your setup.
Are you using the stand alone version of the synth?
    If so,
How are the ASIO and MIDI options set?
How are you setting the record wave file option?
If not, how are you using the synth?

It's for PC and i'm not sure if it's stand alone. the MIDI option just says "Disable keyboard" and the ASIO does nothing, but I tried recording anyway and my windows player couldn't play it ( said something about audio codec). I'm using an used Dell Latitude D630.

When I'd recorded, I used 16 bit and 32 bit options, still nothing and yes I'd used the synth.....Still nothing.

If you are running the synth and nothing else, it is the stand alone version. The synth needs to be hooked up to an ASIO audio interface in that mode. If you want to use your internal sound chip you need to either install ASIO4ALL  or use a VST host like this one which can use your internal sound chips native drivers and the plug-in version of Z3TA+2.

I would try the VST host first because it does not load any drivers on your PC.

Download the version for your OS, unzip it into a folder. Run the VSTHost exe, under File use the "Set plugin path" option to add the path the z3ta+2 dll, then scan plug-ins. The program comes with a pdf on how to setup and use it.
