Well that was an interesting 7:19 of time well spent, two thoughts sprung to my furry mind, Fripp and Ozric's. I enjoyed it, the bass playing was very engaging and your guitar work weaved around the tune nicely. Thanks for sharing Bat

Don't know if I'll pick up a bass again! I would call this fusion of some type, but I really don't know. I would call it some great musicianship! Really top notch stuff.

LOL, you better pick that bass up!! yeah, i don't know if 'fusion' is the appropriate term either, i think the time base and the polyrhythms that DO occur, are too straight time to fall into the fusion realm.. that said, i guess it's a bit more progressive than most, but not as progressive as, say, Tool either way, glad you liked it!

THANKS for checking it out, synk..... this was a fun project... the guys gave me a 'narrative' of the visuals they used to get the idea of each song.... which helped capture the flavor, since when I had the tracks, it was only one bass and basically a mono mixed kit.

That was cool! I like that you used the bass riff as a focal melody. Overall very punchy, edgy but not over the top or too carried away. Nice and classy!

thanks for listening, venus i appreciate it when i got the backing tracks, it was just drums and bass. the bass was always the 'melody', in a way that he kept repeating motifs, and laying down a harmonic structure that was lending itself to what i came up with..... i had this melody in my head, that was a direct response to that bass line.... it's almost as if i didn't write it, it just kinda happened. i like when it works like that!

Yeah, that about sums it up for me too. The bass is a stand-out within the tune, of course, but everything is well played and recorded. IMHO it's not quite fusion or prog, just good solid rock by musicians who can really play. Oh, and I liked the background "effects" at around the 5:00 mark.
