dragging many tracks
So I have about 80 tracks I need to move over to the left because I have some empty space. Every time i move them all over the automation gets all ****ed up and every track ends up with the same automation imposed over it. Anyone know how I can select all of these tracks and drag them over without messing up the automation? Very annoying to have to drage each track one by one. tahnks for reading

The simple answer is - why bother? As you've already noted it can be a pain to get everything lined up, so why bother?

If you are hell bent on moving everything to the left, make sure there is at least some data in the range to be deleted. Then do a select all (ctrl + a), highlight the range you want deleted, go edit > delete and make sure "Delete Hole" is checked. This will not work if there is no data "in the hole" hence why I said there is at least something there to be deleted. If you're working with Midi data, I would leave 1 bar blank space at the beginning.

I have to move tracks to the left because I have a split in the middle of the piece and need to make so there is no gap inbetween.

Assuming I understand the issue correctly, under Options is "Select track envelopes with clips" checked? If so, that should keep the automation aligned with the clips.

Yep I'm going with Craig here, unless you have "Select Track Envelopes With Clips" checked then moving automated clips around is never going to be much fun

I don't know what you mean by dragging tracks to the left? Do you mean you want to move all the MIDI and audio content/clips back in time (like from 26:04 to 2:00, or something similar)? I was going to try Craig's suggestion along with the Slide command, but I can't find "Select track envelopes with clips." Where is this?
