synth rack custom layout problem

Hi. Here is what I see ever since the last update in my synth rack's insert synth menu. I should only be seeing Soft Synths, Samplers and FX Synths in there. But all my categories show up for some reason. This doesn't happen with the insert menu from the track view's FX racks.

Are you using custom layouts? could you show what is checked in "Plug-in Layouts"?

Try VST reset + rescan in case you haven't yet ... try selecting the default layout and report back if it doesn't show there either ...

That menu shown in the pic is actually the VST3 listing (it sorts them by type). They are not synths, so would make sense that they are empty from the synth tab (even if populated).

That is in fact my own custom layout, not a default one. I tried switching back and forth to the default layout, doesn't fix it. Also it happens in all projects, old and new. I really hate doing a full VST reset as I have a ton of stuff that requires configuration so I sure hope it won't come down to that.

Hi - I moved this thread back to the Sonar forum, as this is the proper placement for it.  The issue is not yet confirmed by others as an issue, and a CWBRN number for a submitted bug has either not yet been generated or was generated but not included in the thread content.  (if you look at other threads in the problem reports forum, most have their issue's CWBRN number added to the thread's 'subject' line.

You will also get more eyes on the issue with it posted in the Sonar forum, while things are sorted out as to whether or not this issue is an actual bug in the software.

If indeed this issue can be replicated by others and determined to be an actual bug in Sonar, then it can be submitted as a bug, and the CWBRN number edited into the thread's subject line, and then the thread will get moved back over to the problem reports forum.

I'll take a closer look at the thread and issue, after I get some breakfast and coffee into me. and it looks like other forum members are already engaged with you in figuring out what may be going on. :)

You could try to set VST scan to automatic background scan and move a few of the synth dlls that don't require configuration to a different directory and back ... thus forcing the VST scan on a few VSTs at least ... might help & shouldn't hurt ...

    I see, thanks bob.

I'm already on background scan. Will try fiddling some more with that.
