studio instruments

Can i use my computer keyboard to play strings and if not what software should i get thanks

    If you are using Music Creator 7 or the current release (Cambridge?) of Sonar, they include a virtual keyboard that can be played from either a touch screen or the computer keyboard.
     
    You an get to it from the Views menu bar option.

    Otherwise there are free 'vitual midi keyboard' s on the net.  I use Chirp which isn't free, but cheap.
     
    To add to what gcolbert wrote, what software are you using Studio Instruments in ?
