Can I somehow import WAVES IRs into REmatrix (full version)

Can I somehow import WAVES IRs into REmatrix (full version)?

I used WAVES IRs a lot and know what to grab but they are stored in *.wir format (for whatever that may be???)

I'd like to be able to use some of the WAVES IRs with the new powerful features of REmatrix (which imports WAV or AIFF).

Is there any chance of getting the *.wir into *.wav format? Anyone ever tried any tricks?

Thanks in advance :-)

My recollection is that WIR files are 4-channel audio files, not stereo or even mono wave files. As far as I am aware, there is no direct way to convert them, though it should be possible to sample the IR directly from the plugin and create your own WAV file.

    Hi Dan,
Could you explain how I could sample the IR directly from the plugin?
If it's 4 channel to stereo, would it automatically mean a loss in quality?

    Thanks,
    Rob

What you would be doing is creating your own IR from the output of the plugin. Send a signal though the plugin, record the output, save as a wave file:

Not a loss in quality so much as a loss in the ability to tweak it.
