Problem with audio dropouts in Sonar X3.
Hi,
First of all, this is my first post. Since I could not find an answer for my problem on other forums, I decided to post my own question. (Next to that, I am not a native English speaker, so apologies in advance for any mistakes in grammar/orthography.)
Please note that I have not got a lot of experience regarding Sonar, and please notify me if this question is posted in a wrong place, or anything of that matter.
My Current Setup:
SSD: Samsung 840EVO: OS and Sonar are located here.
HDD: Seagate Barracuda (1TB): Audio files and plugins here.
CPU: AMD-FX6300
MB: ASUSM5A99X EVO R2.0
SC: Roland Quad-Capture;
(routed to a Marantz PM5004;
to Speakers.)
I am experiencing some problems within Sonar X3. Whenever I try to play midi back with Kontakt 5,
it seems to have audio dropouts. So for example, I've got four midi tracks, all routed through Kontakt, and whenever I try to play them back simultaneously, the program "overheats" and an audio dropout occurs. I'm usually recording at 96Khz/24b. I've got a six core (amd) cpu, but it could be that Sonar is not making use of all the cores, since only one bar in the performance section is active most of the time. Perhaps this problem lies within the settings of Kontakt, or maybe it could directly be fixed within Sonar. I've tried a couple of different things to fix the problem, but it is not leading to any results. I've tried different buffer sizes, updating drivers, etc. Since I do not (really) have a dedicated hdd, i thought i might buy one, to see if that would help. (I'm currently running a 125gb SSD drive for Sonar, and a 1 TB HDD for plugins/audio, but also all the other daily files.) Next to that I am running 2x4gb DDR3 Ram, so I do not know if that could be a problem..? A lack of ram? I hope this problem is an easy settings fix, that would save me some bucks.
Thanks in advance.
