Did anybody auditioned Rap Pro's Clavinet and PianetT content packs?

What's in it? The Clavinet pack is 940 Mb. How many clavinet sounds are there? Are they all really that much different from each other? 940 Mb should be a lot of samples. I don't know if I would ever use it and almost Gb of space on SSD is valuable. Thanks.

The clavinet pack was a deciding factor in upgrading, I had ditched DimPro and Rapture earlier in the year. The pack is the only one I downloaded, but it took nearly 2 hours to do so. I didn't get a chance to look at it, but if no one else adds anything I post some info after work today.

The PlaneT pack has me intrigued, so am also interested in more details .

I would really like to see a listing for the whole content, so I can make a better judgement than swamping myself in thing I'll never use, and wasting time downloading (especially with my download times. I'm done enough installing and updating for while.

Thank you for your reply. What is so intriguing about the clavinet? Please, do check it out and let me know if it even works. So far I can not make any libraries to work. Thanks.

Shouldn't this be just in the Browser's Bank section? Under Expansion Pack?

Looks like there are only 3 presets for them ... in Rapture Pro Factory Library Electric Pianos ...

( @Kamikaze - I don't have an Expansion bank for Rapture Pro - just for DimPro (legacy), Rapture (legacy) and User)

    Clavinet:
      Funky Muted Clav FS
      Resonator Clav FS

        SFZs (in Multisamples):
          Clavinet Full Mute On CC1
          Clavinet Full No Muted
          Clavinet Light
          Clavinet Muted

    PianetT:
      Delicate Pianet FS

        SFZs (in Multisamples):
          PianetT Full
          PianetT Light
          PianetT Releases
          PianetT Reverse
          PianetT Veltrack

The Multisamples are 60 note keyboard ranges f0-e5 at different weightings/recordings.
(Presumably FS = Francesco Silvestre (Fisound))

The Pianet appears to be a repurpose of sample sets used in FiSound's PiAnnette (packaged for Sforzando), but RapPro's being twice the bitrate ... and twice the size.

3 Presets may not showcase the wealth of potential within(?)

An easy way to trial the underlying sounds would be to load the .sfz(s) into Sforzando ... or any sfz player (TX16Wx, sfz(+), Zampler, Alchemy) ... or load them into an element in RapPro and as desired save to a User preset (prog).

I can not load it unless I install it and I really don't want to install a Gb of samples for few programs it offers. Seriously- that's it? 5 presets made of 1 Gb of samples- no thank you.

    Thanks for letting me know.

I haven't found any programs with Clavinet.

I have Rap Pro, installed the packs and I can find only one "Clavinet" in the whole bunch when I do a search of "Clavinet" and that's the "Funk Phaser Clavinet" and that's in the Dim Pro Legacy Expansion pack.

With respect and at risk of stating the obvious ... did you search for the shortened "Clav" as per the red entries in my previous post?

Wasn't obvious to me   I tried Clav, and got nine hits. As a public service, I rated each one from 1 (worst) to 5 (best). Aside from Clavinet (which I didn't like) and JM Clav, these are more "clavinet-like" than sampled classic clav sounds.

Clav AZ is quite good, but I would have preferred the chorusing as an option, not baked in. 3
Clavinet is out of tune and has artifacts. If it was sampled properly, it would have been the most realistic clav sound in the bunch but it won't get any use from me. 1
ClaviPiano doesn't sound like a standard clav but I like this one a lot. 5
DiClav has a sort of double attack. Maybe intentional, but I don't like it. 1
FM Clav is okay if you like percussive clav sounds. Wish it had a longer decay. You can always make a long decay shorter, but you can't make a short decay longer. 3
JM Clav. Nice! Funky, gritty, I like it but might be too rough for some. For me, 5.
Slick Clav. Very "FM" sounding. Good dynamic response. 5
Street Clav. It's growing on me, I can see uses for this. 3
Tuff Clav. More like a synth patch, but "tuff" and useable. 4.

Of course this is all subjective...what I might use might not be what you would use, and vice-versa.

Thank you for detailed review. Looks like something I can live without. I was thinking- the reason I am missing samples everywhere is because I did not install these packs- was wondering if it has hidden samples for other programs.

    Thanks Craig ... but ...
My search returned about 50 'Clav's  (across RapPro / DimPro / Rap and Expansions) ... and not one the same as in your list.

You obviously don't have the 'Clavinet Content Pack Vol 12', as per post #5 (above), and part of the 'Install All' with RapPro.

Somewhat surprised you don't have 'Synth_ClavPhase'  from the CA Minimoog Tribute either ;).

Begs the question ... What packs are yours from(?) (Rhetorical) I don't expect you to go trawling Craig ... but I would have thought we would have had some in common ?!

Nah, I'm confused. I've installed and reinstalled, CCC says it's installed fine. I thought this would show as an expansion pack, but being I don't have any others installed I can't compare.

All I have installed from CCC is the main synth program which comes with a limited Program collection, and the Clavinet pack. I can only see Funky Muted Clav FS in Rapture Pro, I'm guessing this is from the main download, rather than the Clavinet Pack. I would expect to see selection with a 1.4Gb install.

So check under your Multisamples directory (default C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Sample Data\Rapture Pro\Multisamples) ... do you have a 'Clavinet' directory?

The only way I found the respective progs was by examining the elements. They are in the RapPro Electric Pianos - not presented as a 'pack'.

The search function only seems to work on a selected bank, not throughout all programs. Or maybe I'm getting batty as it's rather late here...

I knew I had the contents, I just didn't know if the program file in RP was using them. Being I also have some Clav waves relating to the main install.

I can now see that the SFZ file in the elements called Clavinet Muted, although there are 4 SFZ'z listed in the Clavinet folder, so would these not have programs too?   Just also noticed after loading it that it lists, Funky Muted Clav FS it ads [122.8 MB] after this. So I have 1.5 gs of samples and just one program file that uses 122.8 MB.

At the moment I'm thinking something is not right. I'm manualy downloading the Pack again (outside of CCC) to see if I can get more info with it. I stared this about 2 hours ago, eta 11 mins - 12 hours.

Well I don't see one of the programs Craig is takling about. And when I did a search of just Clav I found more, but not a Clavinet byitself. And if I d/l a 900mb+ file, I would expect to see a least two Clavinet programs!!

I looked in the Rap Pro programs folder and did not see anything that said Clavinet.

    Have we found another problem?

What it appears Kamikaze, is that with the Clavinet and PianetT, the instrument is there (Rapture/Multisamples) but very little  in the way of presets (progs - 'voicings') ... but you have the tools to make them.

Go Nuts and release a Presets Pack :).

    Work around:

    I initialized the program.

Then I loaded one of the Clavinet .sfz files I found in the Clavinet folder. It worked.

I then saved the program in the user folder under the name of the .sfz file.

Hitting the sack now. Will play more tomorrow.

Thanks for both confirming. It's funny the only clean Clavinet uses 122.8 MB but some of the effected type use the 1945.1MB.

Looks like making my own with the Clavinet full Mute on CC1.SFZ is the best option

Talk about size. Gothic plunkton uses 2.025 gb. OK patch, but 2gb  worth. Nah.

Just to confirm, when you search, you need to click on each of your banks to find the search results. Also, your experiences may vary depending on what packs you have installed.

I only have one pack installed, and finds 4 programs for a 1.5Gb download a bit disappointing.

    Hi Guys,

FISOUND contributed the sample content for the Clav and PianetT.  The sample content in these packs include full Multi-sampled instruments at 96k 24bit.  Multiple velocity layers, release samples with variations of .sfz files to get you started. if you are into that vibe of old EPs these packs will be right up your alley.  I can give you some more details on the Multisample sfz files included with the content:

The Clavinet is from a Hohner D6 with direct signal and Mics from a 1966 Fender Super Reverb.

          Clavinet Full Mute On CC1

This loads the full Clavinet Multisamples.  Attacks, Release Samples, and Muted Layers.  Moving Modulation Wheel MIDI CC1 will crossfade between the normal layers and the muted layers.  Very cool and much easier then sliding the actual Clavinet Mute.  :)

          Clavinet Full No Muted

The full Clavinet Multisamples with release layers but no Muted Layers.

          Clavinet Light

A lite edition with less velocity layers if you want to create a program that utilizes less RAM.

          Clavinet Muted

Just the Muted layers, this can be fun especially mixing with other Clav Wavetables.

    Details on the PianetT

          PianetT Full

    Full Multi-samples and release layers.

          PianetT Light

Reduced set for less RAM consumption.

          PianetT Releases

Utilizes only the Release layers, use this to layer with other instruments for adding a bit of funk and clunk.

          PianetT Reverse

Plays the Multi-samples back in reverse for special effects and layering patches.

          PianetT Veltrack

A variation on the velocity tracking for amplitude on the PianetT Multisamples.  Adjust to taste.

If you have any other questions on the samples or any issues let me know.

    Best,
    Chad

Chad, thanks for the break down of the content. I'm not that happy with the Programs supplied with the clavnent, but the SFZ files and samples seem good, and the SFZ multisample format makes creating a new program easy. Interesting to see how how the SFZ files break down. I've been using light, but I may have a play with the full and change CC1 to another available option

    Hi Chad,

Thanks for the quality samples Chad.

To assist wider understanding wrt some of the posts above regarding size can you/anyone confirm/clarify my rudimental understanding ...

    The samples are 96K x 24bit x 1channel = 2304kbps BitRate
All the Clavinet samples  are ~1.5GB (on disk)
All the PianetT samples are ~650MB (on disk)

When calling an sfz are it's memory requirements determined by what it has definitions for /calls to (as opposed to necessarily loading all instrument samples - but might typically be one full keyboard / mic arrangement, velocity layers and releases)?

So the resource requirements for disk and memory are a direct result of the quality of the samples and the component requirement of the sfz definition. (?)

In the case of 'Gothic Plunkton' (2025MB), it uses:
    Mellotron Strings Tape - 25MB
    Vint Saw Bitred - 8KB
Clavinet Full No Muted - 1.56GB
    GoldTops GTN Powerchords - 57.2MB

    That still doesn't add up to 2GB - more like 1.6GB ???
Regardless - still quite a memory draw and of course that'd likely be moreso if the other samples were 96/24.
I'm still running an 8GB machine :)  (which has coped well for my requirements thus far).

I noticed  also, seemingly moreso for the lower notes, the duration is longer (/size bigger). Is that due to lower notes having a longer sustain?

    Cheers,
    Shell.
