Can You Change The Default Input Device For A Midi Track?

It default to MIDI Omni every time.  Can this be switched by default?

The only reason I want to do this is because for over 5 years now, the bakers can't seem to solve or CARE to solve the Midi Cross-talk problem that has been reported over and over.
