Correct mic placement is a must.

I have an entire CD (given to me as a joke birthday gift) called "Pull My Finger" with 100 "cuts" on it.

I would also like to mention that I would NOT want to be the next person to use that mic!

Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Is it just me or has the title of this thread, as seen at the top of each reply, taken on a whole 'nuther meaning...

I'm so confused now!

Hi,

One of the funniest things ever, was on Guy Guden's Space Pirate Radio show was his absolutely insane goofing around with special effects, and he always used to do different things with it, that were hilarious. Backwards is the funniest of them all (Try a (real, not airliner) jet! Did you just swallow something?). It usually ended up adding a little story with various characters and voices he did. "Philosophy bowling" was one such piece of his.

So, before you enjoy that, you also want to enjoy "Our Song" by Roger Waters and Ron Geesin, before Roger became fat and sassy with his money! Sodd Rungren also has some of these in his "Wizard" side of the album I believe, and in M. Frogg's first solo album there are enough sounds ... to enjoy and bore you!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

I wonder if used equipment will include more info in the future. It used to be "clean mic (or amp), no smoking studio". "Mic never used in bathroom"?

I recorded several hundred 6th, 7th, and 8th graders all chattering away in a gym yesterday. What a racket! I haven't gotten a tune out of it yet but I thought, "the sound is here, I should grab it.. you never know".

I hear he had to use an industrial strength de-esser to make it a hit.

(Sorry, even I have to apologize for that one!  )

Seriously, though. Start turning these sound effects backwards and in different speeds ... you'll be laughing so hard that you might want to compose a symphony! A song is not enough!

Hi,

We knew about him in Portugal and the kids at school used to talk about him, although none of us had seen it, but we heard about it. I didn't think much of it, because grandpa was a nasty one on this ... he was a rather well known composer in Portugal, and when grandma would call up to say dinner is ready, he would come to the top of the stairs, let out a huge fart and then go back to his study!

And he used to tickle our feet with feathers, and to distract us, in the middle of it, he would fart ... and of course when grandma said anything, here came another one, and different too!

Never learned anything else about him.  But my mom didn't like him much either! She was a momma's girl!
