Using Geist to drive AD2 in X3/Plat (plus AD2 MIDI CAL script)

In the frustrations of dealing with SONAR's Step Sequencer and deciding to use AD2's internal mixing engine, I took a path of using Geist to drive AD2. The resolution of this was pretty simple via a custom map in AD2, but left a gap to "bucket" internal AD2 MIDI clips into a Geist-friendly form. The solution to this was a CAL script, which adjusts note values into the 16-key range visible on one Geist engine (lumping them into the "most common" articulations).

I created a project with X3 which also opens in Platinum. X1d has "issues" with enabling MIDI output (each time I enabled MIDI output it reset to disabled when clicking "OK"), so after hitting this I backed out and blew off X2 completely.

I created a zip file (88Kb) which includes:
   - A project with this routing
   - Custom map for AD2 (for Geist to hit the "most common" articulations used)
   - Custom kit for Geist (for names on pads basically)
   - CAL script to remap AD2's internal MIDI into Geist usable forms
   - Instructions for installation and use (the CAL script itself also has notes)

The crux of all this is to "bucket" AD2 MIDI into 16-pad form, and the project is set up to do so. There is a "MIDI conversion track" at the bottom for dragging/dropping MIDI from AD2, allowing for CAL conversion, then drag/dropping that onto a Geist pattern pad. There are additional notes in the included files.

I noted issues with SONAR crashing trying to use it as a template, and even simply closing/reopening the working project can cause a CTD. Since the cwp is included above, I do not need to include "steps to reproduce"

Anyway... feel free to try this out if inclined and own Geist. I did learn something new in that Geist will handle a lot more steps than I thought (I converted one "long song" which had 768 steps and Geist was happy with that).

Feel free to modify any of the included files at will to suit your needs.

Edit: I may append this later, as Geist will fire everything within AD2 discretely on CH 10. This option would require no "middle-man" CAL work, but since I was already headed down that path I finished it. If the CH 10 mapping is an apples-to-apples one, I will update this post at a later date.

Edit 2: CH 10 may be a no go, as it would require a MIDI track to drive Geist (negating Geist's step sequencer) and will only fire internal pads (no pass through that I can find). AD2 also does not seem to differentiate the channels it sees.

Edit 3: I highlighted a crucial point in this OP which only occurs in Platinum. X3 is fine closing/reopening this project.

Thankyou! I use Maschine more than Giest simply because I haven't got round to checking it out. This will help me jump a few hurdles.

You may be able to use this with Maschine... the notes Geist fires on one engine are 36-51, so the included AD2 map may also catch Maschine outputs (if on those keys).

I am not familiar with Maschine, but seems like a "hardware version of Geist," so if Maschine is set up for those keys, the CAL may also work without much modification.
