Just tried this and it is still crashing and closing down when I try to set it to use the ASIO driver for my Roland QUAD-CAPTURE. I guess I'll just have to wait for the full version to come out.................

SR, I also had that issue a few versions back with ASIO and my Focusrite 2i4 where it would reject the driver & close the app. Although I can't remember what the fix was (possibly a newer BETA 1 release), I did the usual of reinstalling the latest Focusrite drivers nonetheless. I remember it worked with one of the other drivers (WDM?) and was able to test out some synths. I'm still waiting for the VST for this new release.....can't wait to record!!

Yeah, I've been in touch with Jam Origin recently and it's a know issue apparently. One which will only be fixed when released as a VST. We wait with baited breath........

It was the first beta of MG2 that I tried, and yeah, that crashed my Q-C when I tried to select the ASIO driver. Same happens with beta 2. And I've since updated my Q-C drivers, so I'm not sure whether that may have been the cause of the crash originally. This was Oli's reply when I submitted feedback:-
I was aware of the problem with Roland Capture series of interfaces, but thought it had been fixed. Unfortunately Roland seems to operate a bit on the edge of the standards with their driver on windows and the middleware we use to handle audio (called JUCE, very popular among audio hosts), just don't like it. They haven't been able to fix it and I'm not sure how much i can do to push this. We make sure we launch the plugin version soon, so that you can use Cakewalk instead for audio.

Has anyone tried this with Roland's Octa-Capture with the latest firmware and drivers installed and ASIO? Thanx
The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better. The note tracking is insane. The first beta was really good, but this one is even better. I only tried it for a short time, but I had a hard time getting it to flub notes. I'll try it with dorm fast sweep picking and taping in the future, but for normal picking and legato I found it to be shockingly good. I had a few problems with chords. It would some times trigger false notes or if I used my fingers instead of a pick, not all notes would trigger. I can't wait for it to be officially released. There is a similar product in beta called Migic that is really nice also. The tracking isn't quite as good, but not bad. However it's pitch bend tracking is very nice. I even tracks your vibrato fairly accurately. It should cost less the Midiguitar. It's a Good time to be a guitarist.

Ole at Jam Origin has been in touch today and he sent me a developers version of MG2 beta 2 in order to try something out with my QUAD-CAPTURE. After a couple of tries, I got a version that worked for me, I think it may have been 32bit... Not sure... But at least I can now try out the software. And wow! I was really surprised. I guess I shouldn't have been, reading everyone else's comments here on how well MG tracked, but after years of trying the various Roland hardware offering, and eventually giving up, assuming we'd never get a usable MIDI guitar solution. But, yeah, here we are... I'm really looking forward to MG2 now and I'd be surprised if I do not buy into it cheers andy

+1 ST.. I've been using it since the original Beta 1 version and I've seen it come a very loooooong way. I was considering getting YouRock Guitar at the time, but didn't like the fact that it didn't have strings. This was a no-brainer in using MG as I can use my own guitars, and Jam Origin was on top of working with a lot peoples requests......a win-win situation. One of the best, if not the best $99 I've spent. Go ahead mate, get it!!!

Done Well... I've got MG (version 1) now and I've been messing with that. MG2 is so much better though, tracking wise and in ease of setup.
