WHY?...

Hi,

Problem, interruptions and sizzle in some instrumental voices.
This problem is just for in some voices of some plug-ins, not for all.
For example, ReFx Nexus voices are clear. Real Guitar voices are clear but I can't never use Native Instruments Giant Piano voices.

Why?

Could be down to how CPU intensive the plugin is.  I had to up my buffer size in ASIO4ALL when using Addictive Drums to avoid getting pops and crackles.  Try upping your buffer size and seeing if that helps.

Whatever you do don't install ASIO4ALL though. Up your buffers everywhere I suggest.

What's wrong with Asio4All?  It works a treat for those, like me, that don't have a audio interface with its own Asio drivers.

OP has an interface though (TriCapture in his specs). Asio4All is only intended for those whole do not have an ASIO driver interface. It would defeat the entire intended purpose of Asio4All to use it alongside real ASIO drivers... that purpose being ATTEMPTING to provide the lower latency/stability of ASIO without actually having ASIO. Of course it is far less capable of this than true ASIO.

To the OP... insert the Performance Module in your project and see if you are maxing out your RAM/CPU. 16GB of RAM is usually enough but if you have a buttload of synths loaded with massive sample banks it adds up quick. If that is the problem freeze some of the synths which will clear up some memory. If it is your CPU getting overtaxed then raising your interface buffers will help but at the cost of increasing latency. Again though freezing synths will help as well as freezing FX you don't need to tweak at the moment.

Also make sure your Windows Power Management settings are set to Performance and make sure none of your system components are set to fall asleep/go idle (such as USB ports, hard disks or anything else).

It's become very obvious to us long timers with sonar, that having Asio4all installed is enough to create a great deal of instability if you have proper ASIO drivers for your device.

Of course it's anecdotal but more and more we are hearing of these exact circumstances. When we ask folks to remove Asio4all their systems and Sonar become stable.

    Cool, fair enough.

Once I purchase one myself I will get rid of Asio 4 All.
