SOLVED: Input Echo "frozen" on...

I have a track that refuses to release the Input Echo On control...no matter how many times I click on on it it will not turn off.  Always Echo is set to off in preferences.
 
Any ideas?

fixed it...just deleted the track and then did a ctrl-z
