How all of you in Texas and Oklahoma are fairing well with the rain and floods
Just got a news alert. It's looking mighty nasty over there. Hundreds of homes gone. I know Beagle is in North Texas I believe. Everyone take care!

I'm in Ft. Worth and we've gotten a lot of rain and flooding, but there's nothing devastating directly in Ft. Worth. Wimberly is where the hundreds of homes were destroyed, which is south of here, between Austin and San Antonio. most of the fatalities and missing people in Texas are in that area. We've had a lot of flooding here, but there aren't any fatalities in Ft. Worth that I'm aware of. I"m sure there are damages to homes from high winds and flooding, but not to the extent of the 300+ homes in one area like in Central Texas. At this time another storm just left this area. lots of lightening and there was a tornado watch, but none appeared here where i live. there have been many tornadoes lately in Central and North Texas and of course in Oklahoma. We have at least 3 times in the past several weeks heard the sirens in our neighborhood and went and hid in the bathroom in the middle of the house until the storm passed. But so far we've escaped it relatively unscathed. our back yard is basically a pond, tho.

I hope I'm alright. I have been working in Vegas since May 17th, so I have missed most of the storms. My wife is here with me for the Memorial Day weekend as well. We spoke to our daughter this afternoon and so far, only bad thunderstorms in our area, East of Dallas.

Austin has been hit hard. The worst flooding I've seen in over twenty years. I'm safe, and everyone I know, but others aren't so lucky. Several hundred homes and business flooded out, and over one hundred homes completely wiped off their foundations south of here. We went from one of the worst droughts in history, to flooding, in the space of a few months. Water rescues all over the city and rural areas. Glad I don't have to be at work for another three days. Be safe everyone. It only takes six inches of water to move a 2,000 lb. vehicle. Turn around, don't drown.
A deep chesty bawl echoes from rimrock to rimrock, rolls down the mountain, and fades into the far blackness of the night. It is an outburst of wild defiant sorrow, and of contempt for all the adversities of the world. - Aldo Leopold

Thanks for the thoughts... I just posted about my situation before I saw this. The only threat I have is the yard not absorbing any more water... I had a moat around my house last night, and studio would be the first to go. But like the other guys said, there are some areas that are in real bad shape, and more storms expected, and we've already had record amounts of tornadoes, and less than 2 inches away from breaking the rainfall record from 1982 I think they said. If any of my neighbors gets in trouble and needs a hand let me know btw!

My brother lives in San Antonio and I haven't heard from him yet. Sending good thoughts to you guys. These disasters really know how to change one's life.
