Music Creator 6 Display Issues in Windows 8.1

Hi,

I have recently installed music creator 6 on my new windows 8.1 laptop but have some display problems with the quick start menu. When it loads, the menu is displaced and the drop down boxes appear over the text and the music creator logo on the blank blue screen is off to one side. I have tried running it in compatibility mode for windows 7 but nothing changed.

I would appreciate it someone knows what to do.

Thanks,

Lewis

It is supposed to run in 64bit even tho it is a 32bit application.  as you said you've tried running in win7 compatibility mode, I would also try running "as administrator"

what are your computer specs?  especially your CPU, RAM and your video card specs.

I'm grasping at straws now, because I'm not sure how to help you.  but have you updated MC6 to the latest revision?

If that doesn't work, then I suggest contacting Cakewalk support directly about the problem.

    Try changing the display resolution.

Sounds like you may have a higher DPI setting engaged. Give this a try...

    1) Right-Click on your desktop and go to "Screen Resolution"

    2) Click on the link for "Make text and other items larger or smaller"

    3) Take a look at what you have checked here. Typically Smaller 100% is the default. If you have 125% or something higher checked this may cause some apps to not display correctly.
