Sonar Platinum will crash when opening a project with K-Meter
Sonar does not like some plugins such as the excellent and free
K-Meter.
Tested with Sonar Platinum Dorchester 64 bit
Steps to reproduce the problem:(Step 0: install K-Meter 64 bit)
- Step 1: Create a blank project
- Step 2: Insert audio track
- Step 3: Insert Audio FX / VST 2 / K-Meter (Stereo)
- Step 4: Select RMS
- Step 5: Save project as TestKMeter1
- Step 6: Open project: Sonar crashes
Alternative:
- Skip Step 4, e.g. do not configure anything in the plugin
- Step 5: Save project as TestKMeter2
- Step 6: Close Sonar
- Step 7: double click on TestKMeter2
- Step 8: Open K-Meter by clicking it on the track
- Step 9: press the RMS button in the plugin: Sonar crashes
Interestingly enough
- Open Sonar
- File / Open TestKMeter2
- press the RMS button or select other options in the plugin: no crash
Why I think this is a Sonar bug:- It works with Reaper 4 64 bit
- It works with FL Studio 12
