[Solved] Drum Replacer always seem to crash for me

Maybe it's just me, but on my desktop and laptop Drum Replacer always crashes.
On my laptop I used CCC to update everything then I transferred the files to my desktop and ran them manually.
Both systems are 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro.

The fault reporter runs and sends off the dump files, so I suppose someone will investigate my problem.

To duplicate, I just drag a drum loop  from the media library to make a single audio track, highlight the loop, click Region Effect -> Drum Replacer -> Create Region FX. The drum replacer loads in the console view, then the crash occurs immediately.

I tried this many times. Restarted, re-scanned VST, etc. No change. Same thing happens the same way on both systems.

Solution:
Preferences > File – Audio Data-> Render Bit Depth was 64 make it 32.

Try a plugin reset, that usually triggers a scan but the reset could be important.

What do you have for your Render Bit Depth setting in the Preferences > File – Audio Data? If you've set it to 64, take it down to 32 and add Drum Replacer again.

My first though is you are using a Rex2 file and not a wave but I just loaded the same file into DR without a problem. I suspect, Tech Support is going to have to look at the dump to diagnose this one.

Edit: I see support is already on the job.

That did it. It was 64. Now it is 32.

PS, the VST reset took a loooooong time to re-scan, but didn't help.

Sorry about that - we plan to address this issue in an update soon. As Dean says, setting the render depth to 32 will work fine.

I am having the above error, and changing the render depth made no difference. Is there some other setting I'm missing? Drum Replacer crashes Sonar the moment I launch it -- every single time.

It can't be the same error. The crash issue with 64 bit depth was fixed in everett itself. Which version of Sonar are you running?

Have you updated Drum replacer itself to the latest release? Please send us a crash dump if so.
