Fixed: [CWBRN-31096] - Fatal error with Track Templates insert/delete/load

Hi-

Steps to repro:

1. Insert a synth (in this case, Strum Acoustic) from a Track Template.
2. Delete the synth (Strum Acoustic) in the Browser and chose delete associated tracks.
3. Change Track Strips>Track Defaults color in Preferences.
4. Load a track template (in this case, Strum Acoustic).
A fatal error has occurred, yada yada.
I try to send the report and get:
"A connection error has occurred," etc.
Went ahead and filed a Problem Report.

Seems related to http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3159549

Thanks-

-Susan

Well, I can certainly repro it at will, but I know that doesn't count ;)! I thought someone else had as well, though.

One other detail if it helps is that the track color default change I made does stick before the crash.  The next time I run SONAR, the color I chose is the default.

I'm seeing this now in Braintree with an even simpler scenario.

    1. Load a project containing a single synth.
    2. Delete the synth and associated tracks. The project is now essentially empty.
    3. Navigate to Track Templates in the Browser.
    4. Drag a .cwx file to the Track View.

    Crash.

Edited to change "associated files" to "associated tracks."

Please note I'm talking about steps to repro in this specific thread appears fixed.

There is a new issue here which I'm trying to treat separately.

Please try this with the track Inspector tab set to tracks rather than prochannel, and see if you can repro.
I fixed a crash that could occur when inserting track templates when the tab was set to ProChannel

    ty for fixing things. :-)

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

    Hi Noel-

No, I can't reproduce the crash if either the Clip or Track tab is selected in the Inspector. It only happens when the ProChannel tab is selected.

    Thanks very much!

OK then its the same bug that some people were seeing in the other thread. Its actually completely unrelated to templates themselves but a crash caused when the inspector UI updates in the midst of loading a template.
I fixed it by switching tab's before loading the template for now. CWBRN-31038 will also be a dupe of the same issue.

My track templates still cause crashes - irrespective whether inspector shows prochannel or not ...

The crashes occur after the template has been "successfully" dragged and dropped when (a) either the synth is double clicked to open the GUI (this happens e.g. with WAVES Element or AD2 inserted via different templates) or (b) UNDO is executed to revert the track template insert

I will reported this separately as this appears to be a different issue from the ones reported so far

CWBRN 31096 is fixed in Everett. I can't repro with the steps in post #1. It switches the focus to the Track tab in the Inspector (not surprising, given Noel's post #10) but that's no biggie at all. I'll mark it fixed.

    Thanks-
