[Solved] Drum Replacer So Far a Bust
DR has crashed multiple times trying to analyze some drum loops. At first it seemed that loops greater than 1-bar were the problem since all the loops causing a crash were longer. And once it crashed it would simply not analyze any loops. I then reloaded DR (just a guess) and then found a 1-bar loop and it worked. I then tried splitting a longer loop into a 1-bar loop and it worked. Then I caused another crash by dragging the right edge of a loop longer than 1-bar down to one bar. I reloaded DR again (simply closing Sonar and re-opening did nothing) and got it to analyze a 1-bar loop but no data shows up in any of the 3 lanes. This is not the first time that had happened but it doesn't cause a crash. Just nothing. So, so far DR is a bust for me. I've sent a crash/dump report to the Bakers; let's see what happens. Steve

Changing th Bit Depth stopped the crashes but now I don't get any of the bright "peaks" in any of the 3 lanes, just dim ones that are small and very low volume (mostly very low or very high frequencies). I have reset plugins but nothing changed. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Still a bust.

It would help to provide steps that reproduce your issue. This seems to be an isolated experience. Did you reset and re-scan your VSTs after updating?

You have adjusted the filter appropriately? Some setting should give you high peaks.

Sorry to hear this. I've just analysed a stereo track of 3:47 duration. While it took about 45secs to do it its been as stable as a rock while I play around with it. I know that doesn't help you but it should let you know that it will work. Probably just some setting we need to help you sort out. As Craig mentioned try to give us a precise recipe that brings this about.

So far no consistency creating the problems; I'll try to get some steps tomorrow. As for the dim "peak" issue, adjusting the filter had little effect other than highlighting the extreme low and high frequencies. Odd. But then another loop analyses perfectly. Some loops are from Sony ACID libraries, some from other publishers. Maybe that's the issue; I'll they to find the common thread.
Thanks to all.

Steve, Thanks. Let us know if you find a common element so we can investigate.

I'll check later to verify, but I don't think VocalSync or Melodyne work with Acidized files; they need standard WAV files. If that's the case it seems likely any ARA-based device would work similarly.

If the file can be loaded in SONAR, creating a Region Effect for the resulting clip bounces it to standard wave before Drum Replacer or other region effects go to work.

Thanks Keith. So it does need a WAV, but SONAR handles it automatically.

I had a small window this morning to try again, and both times everything worked fine (just like taking your car to the mechanic ). I'll see if I can reproduce the problem later, but I just wanted to again thank you guys for jumping in trying to help. Steve
