Fractured

Hey all. It's been quite a while since I been on these forums. I used to go by Dreambliss for those of you that may remember me. I started a new music project "Basradaem" sometime last year and haven't really spent a whole lot of time on it unfortunately.

Here's the song Fractured, which doesn't yet have vocals. My bro was going to do vocals on the project but he's been really busy with life and his own projects, not to mention he's 850 miles away, so it hasn't yet come to fruition.

The project is a metal project, like my previous "Dreambliss" project. However, "Basradaem" is in more of a traditional song structure written with vocals in mind. All instruments are synthesizers and I'm a perfectionist so I'll probably go back and change things yet when time permits - mainly small tweaks.

In case of curiosity, the name "Basradaem" comes from a fictional planetary system I created in a sci-fi novel series I'm attempting to write.

Enjoy.

-Luke

EDIT:
The album is called "Trapped In Pieces" with "Fractured" being the first part of the story of a man's struggles with life. "Fractured" begins with him losing the love of his life in a car accident. He was driving home while intoxicated and missed a sharp turn then crashed into an embankment. She died at the scene but he survived and went to prison for her death.

Nice work.  I liked the use of the choral backing vocal type sound at the beginning.  Very effective.

Nice one! I would vote to have those choral voices up in the mix. But if you are going to add lead vocals, then maybe not!

The guitars sound great, very present. The drums, particularly the snare, sound very tight. I appreciate the panning of the toms.

I think the bass could use a whole lot more volume in your mix. Usually it just seems to double whatever guitar line is going on - I wonder if it could break out on its own more often? Your choice, naturally.

The ending, about three minutes in, wow does it get going! really cool kick drum.

    cheers,
    -Tom

I agree with the others, can't wait to hear a finished version.  Do you have words?  I'm sure someone could fill in the blanks.  Anyway, good recording all around.

Will keep the furry ears listening for the vocal version as this sounds like a good start to move from.

Finally got around to listening to this.

As others have said, I look forward to the final version. The structure as it stands now is well mapped out. Riffage is good... I like it, and it pretty much stands as an instrumental piece.

I like the use of keys in metal bands

    cheers

Thanks again for the comments. I'm heading out east at the end of next month to visit family. I'll be staying at my brother's place, so maybe we'll get some vocals on this then... hopefully!

Nice tight guitar + drums - swirling keyboards help build the nightmare imagery of losing his wife in the car accident - good job!

    Hey Basradaem,

This track sounds really good. Are you using amp sims? What in the track are you performing from live instruments and what tracks are MIDI?

    Cool track.

In your OP you said all the instruments were synths, so the guitars are all samples then?   If so, nice job getting a solid metal feel!  Sounds pretty authentic here.
