Default opening size of piano roll editor

Ok - this is a simple issue that recently has started driving me mad in Sonar Platinum.

At some point recently something has changed meaning that when I double click a MIDI clip to open it the PRV opens as a narrow window in the multidock.

My personal preference is to have it open full screen - which I had configured it to do before, and it had been fine like this I first come onto the X series, but something has changed and every time now I get this narrow window which I have to shift+D to fill the screen.

What did I do!?! How do I get it to default to full screen when opening a PRV again? My sanity is at stake here guys!!

Thanks

**EDIT** - It's all additional views, ie Console, Markers etc etc... Grrr! What did I change, is it from the monthly updates defaulting a global setting?

Have you updated everything to the Everette version?
And which Sonar version are you using, Platinum?

I had the same issue, but now, when I save with the views open with shift-D, they open full from then on.

Yeah - Platinum, fully updated.

Just been checking some more, and it's not a problem in my default template when I start a new project, but I have a few projects where it has come on at some point during one of my sessions and I cant get it to go back to the behavior I prefer.

It's quite strange...

I've been having the same problem throughout multiple Sonar Platinum patches (I'm currently on Jamaica Plain, awaiting Kingston) and still have it now. However, I think I've found a fix for the issue. Why it works, I have no idea, but here it is.

  1. Open a project, or begin a new project.
  2. Close all docked items except for one single tab. I'll use the mixing console for this example.
  3. Set the tab to full screen (Shift + D), then close it.
    • Don't just minimize it, but completely close the docked mixer tab.
    • There should be no tabs in the multi-dock area.
  4. Immediately re-open the mixer. I use Alt + 2, but perhaps the menu selection (View | Console View) will work as well.
  5. For me, this corrects the problem.
I sincerely hope this helps someone else. For anyone who's workflow includes looking at the full screen, this is so aggravating!
