Decent (free) video tour/tutorial of Rapture Pro

Rainy (and thus painful) day in Beepsterland so I was poking around the intertubes for stuff to read/watch. This may have already been posted before (if so my apologies) but it looks like a pretty good starter tutorial. I don't own Rapture Pro and don't think I really need it but it may help others considering it or just in need of a quickstart tut.

You should totally buy the X3 Complete series when it goes on sale (or if money is no object then ASAP). It is extremely thorough and has helped me a lot. The Producer FX vid and Intruments Revealed vids are excellent companion vids that go more in depth about the synths and effects that come with Sonar. Unfortunately the FX vid is getting a LITTLE outdated because some things have been dropped and new things added since it was created but I'd say 95% of it is still completely relevant and of course if you owned X2 you still have all those older effects.

At some point I should cobble together a master list of all the free tutorial vids, articles and just generally useful links I have bookmarked/saved in my wacky text notes. Just always seem to have other spazziness to spazz on. lol

Funny you should mention the complete X3 collection as i bought it just after posting .
I hope it is as in depth as you say as i am still relatively very new to this software.

    Thanks

Good choice. Essentially it's like a compact video version of the manual covering almost anything in the main program you need to know. It makes it easier to understand the terms and methods used in Sonar and although it should get you through almost any task within Sonar if you need ultra finite detail about something you will know what search for in the 2000 page manual and/or how to ask about/describe stuff here on the forum more accurately.

Thing is though within its 9 hours + of vids it doesn't dig into how to work all the specific effects and synths that come bundled. Just how to use the DAW. However all those individual units can be very complex on their own and require individual study. That's why I mentioned the other Intruments and FX vids which are just as thorough but goes through each of those things one by one.

I have pretty much watched all those vids from start to finish just to get a general idea of what is and does what but now what I do is if I need to perform a specific task I will go and rewatch the specific entry on the Sonar feature, effect and/or synth I intend to use. Then if need be I will scour the PDF Reference Guide which I keep stored on my laptop for extra info or do a Google search of the topic which generally brings up the online versions of the reference guide (which is updated regularly), threads here on the forum discussing the issue and sometimes youtube videos or articles on other sites about the task.

Took me a few years to really get into the swing of hunting down info in this way but I can almost ALWAYS find out waht I need to rather easily. If that fails (or I'm just feeling chatty) I'll come harass my forum brothers and sisters.

    Cheers.

BTW I stumbled across this vid while looking at some other stuff. I hadn't read the Everett Release Notes yet, there was a link to a vid of the new Kick Start thingie for Rapture (which was interesting as well) and this vid about RapPro was in the sidebar so I checked it out.

And for those who haven't seen the Kick Start vid here it is...

Looks pretty cool. I actually didn't think it would be useful to me but after seeing that it just might be. Good excuse to try some wacky Rapture shenanigans too.
