UK Music Computer retailers

Hi..

Just making a enquiry in regards to people's knowledge of good  computer system builders which cater for music.

My work tends to be very Kontakt and sample library based (windows 64bit, lots of memory / Large SSDs) and I use a MOTU ultralite MK3  so a TI firewire will be essential. I also run two Samsung 24inch monitors 1920 x 1200 pixles.

If anybody could recommend a retailer I would be very grateful

I build my own PCs, so I've no personal experience of either of these other than as parts suppliers. Bearing that in mind you could try quietpc.com (especially if low acoustic noise from the PC is a requirement) or scan.co.uk.

Personally I've always found the best (sometimes only) way to get the combination of components I want for the peculiar requirements of a DAW is to assemble the PC myself.

However if low acoustic noise isn't so much of an issue pretty much any decently powerful i7 based PC should do the job, just add the extra drives and a suitable firewire card yourself if necessary.

    Sonar Platinum 64bit, Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, I7 3770K Ivybridge, 16GB Ram, Gigabyte Z77-D3H m/board,
ATI 7750 graphics+ 1GB RAM, 2xIntel 520 series 220GB SSDs, 1 TB Samsung F3 + 1 TB WD HDDs, Seasonic fanless 460W psu, RME Fireface UFX, Focusrite Octopre.
Assorted real synths, guitars, mandolins, diatonic accordions, percussion, fx and other stuff.
