Amazon Prime Now
It's 8:10pm on a Sunday and I just ordered a new paper shredder off of Amazon, which because I'm in Manhattan will be delivered within the hour as part of "Amazon Prime Now." God I love this city.

I didn't even know I needed one until I discovered my zipcode was eligible for 1hr delivery. Now all I need is a hamster.
(PS that last remark came out sounding wrong. I'm not looking to shred a hamster, I just figured the shredded paper will make nice bedding).

I got the Ollie North "signature" model, but I had to wait 2 days. We're so backward here in the Pac NW. Maybe NYC is good for somethin'. Besides all its residents thinkin' they live in the center of the universe I mean.  T

Any musician who is an Amazon Prime subscriber and who does video streaming: do *not* miss Mozart in the Jungle. It's about a fictitious NY orchestra going through the usual personnel and funding issues that are part of any high-end arts organization. Even if your thing is only rock or other popular types of music, check this series out. I dearly hope there will be additional seasons.
Highly recommended.

Yes. Quicker. The Chinese delivery guys are insane. I'll never forget looking out of the window during the peak of Hurricane Sandy and seeing a Chinese guy on a rickety looking bicycle with bags of food hanging from the handlebars, swaying violently in the wind and rain as he made his way down Avenue C to deliver an order. At first I was amazed that he'd still be delivering food in that weather. And then it hit me - someone actually picked up the phone and made the order, knowing fine well that a hurricane was blowing outside. New Yorkers for ya!
