The Hoser XT EQ | Boz Digital Labs / New release+intro offer

New release-intro sale

Analog Sound – CPU Friendly

When we built The Hoser, we had two objectives:
  1. It must sound just like the hardware
  2. You should be able to use this plugin on every track without worrying about your CPU overheating.
After much trial and error, we finally accomplished this. The plugin stays true to the analog sound, allowing you to add extreme amounts of gain without adding the harshness of digital EQ. It does all this while using small amounts of processing power, to preserve your CPU for other plugins. It’s really the best of both worlds.

3 Channel Modes

While we were using the hardware, we couldn’t help but wish that we could use it in a mid/side configuration. It was just begging for it. So what was stopping us from making the plugin work in mid/side mode? Nothing, that’s what.
You can also process your left and right channels separately, which is a great way to add some stereo width to a mono track, or match the tone of a stereo source.

The Hoser vs The Hoser XT

When you buy The Hoser XT, The Hoser also comes with your download, but what is the difference?
The Hoxer XT
  • Separate Mid/Side and stereo control, as well as standard stereo/mono mode
  • Comes with The Hoser
The Hoser
  • More compact design
  • stereo/mono mode only

A tip of the toque to the Boz-Bendeth team for this plugin.  I would advise anyone interested in a great-sounding console-style EQ to download the demo and try it out.

I can't think of another circuit-modeled EQ plug that sounds this good while being so CPU-friendly.  Putting this on every track, thus getting the benefit of the console modeling à la VCC, shouldn't be an issue.  The M/S mode is nice for opening up the top end of a mix and focusing the lows.  And the GUI makes it very fun to use.  Nice work, eh?

Cheers,
Eddie

Yep, great sounding eq & VERY light on resources.
I've been demoing it along side Acustica's Harrison console eq &will have to weigh the +/- of each.
Lower price, ease of workflow with Hoser vs fewer instances with Acoustica but overall better sound.

It appears the LF stops at 400Hz and the MF1 starts at .1 (1K Hz). Silly question, why a 600Hz gap? I realize it is not meant to be a surgical EQ but there is a lot of stuff happening between 400-1K Hz.

Look closely at the label on that MF1 knob.  .1 kHz, or 100 Hz, is the bottom of the range.

Thanks Eddie! I have got to get some new reading glasses soon...

I do wish that software makers would keep in mind that some of us would prefer larger fonts ...  :-)

Anyway, Boz has just confirmed that a Sonar ProChannel version of HOSER is in the works!

That's Good news, hope early adopters will get in on that.

I already have it in a project, on the master, in mid-side mode. Really nice bringing some high end up on the sides and it still sounds fine when the master is switched to mono! It also helps to click on HOSER just to see the freq curves. :)

I'm going to download the demo and check this out. I've been very impressed so far with the ProChannel versions!

Peace!
