No Crashes Since Everett Update 1?

I haven't pushed the issue much as far as re-testing all the projects that were suffering constant crashes when trying to close a proce / open another...

I did notice that I haven't had a crash since the Everett Update 1 and was wondering what experience anyone else is noticing?

I'm pretty sure it happens here because I'm using the VSampler 32 bit VST as its the only thing I gave that can load/play wy Will Lee bass samples which are old and in Gigasampker format...

I use this in most of my songs as his Sadiwsky 5-string is such a fabulous sample set... But I've been paying the price with the 32 bit plugin in 64-bit Sonar...

I don't know f it's just coincidence or if the update acquired some better protection from difficult plugins... But I thank the Bakers either way!

I gad a fast working easy session today...

There was an update to Bitbridge in Everett. I don't know whether update 1 copped a tweak!!

I hope tomorrow to have time to test this...

It would be great to finally have this fixed... It's been annoying ever since I changed to 64-bit...

Thanks mudgel... Nice to know there's some grounds for me to believe this! ;-)

I have not ran Vsampler in a stable way in any bridging, not in Sonar or Reaper as host, neither jBridge.
I ditched Vsampler because of it.

Kontakt is crap doing GIG import as I discovered.

There is another player for GIG that is good, GPlayer - check it out

Thanks lfm... I will check out the program in a few minutes...

It would be nice to have a new, 64bit synth to handle this as I use it constantly...

But honestly...? Other than crashes while closing/changing projects, VSampler has been running like a champ! I am grateful to have been able to use it...

GPlayer... Sounds very familiar. I did attempt a number of replacements for this Ana I'm thinking this was one that had a strange issue... But I will check it out immediately..

I couldn't afford to buy Kontakt even if I wanted to... <sigh>...

    Keni

    [edit]

I just gave G-Player a once over glance...

Yes, I did see this one before and was very interested... But too broke to buy it. Currently I can't even easily download the demo due to limited web access...

The price is very reasonable, but I'm too broke/poor to buy it. I think that was my reality when I first found it and since forgot about as my finances have not significantly improved... Sadly...

Thanks for the link and reminder... I will endeavor to remember it for a time when I can spend for my bass. It's the only sample library I still have from my Giga days... Or at least the only one I know where to find after so many years! ;-)

I've done more complex stuff than usual and had no problems, yet yesterday I did a simple bounce to clip and the whole thing crashed. Go figure.

    Hi ampfixer...

Sorry to laugh, but I know what you mean... It's often happened that things get nice and solid only to reveal some little grunt somewhere totally unexpected... The complexity of this FAB software world we exist in! ;-)

    [edit]

BTW... Are you getting crashes every time you do a bounce to clip or was just that time?

Just a one time random event. I call them Sonar moments.

The everett update is working pretty well for me.   I use GPlayer and Kontakt 5, both pretty heavily loaded.    Used to have a vsampler license ... need to track that down, because I always like it.

I'm glad that's all it was...

Random issues still happen to every software...

I have the free kontakt player, but never use it due to its library limitations and the cost of buying libraries/instruments for along with buying the real program, I've stayed away.

G-Sampler sounds very interesting and one day I'd like to buy it... VSampler is a cool synth but limited to 32bit and its Giga import is good, but not perfect... The ui is pretty easy...

I'm grateful to have VSampler so I can still use my Will Lee bass collection...
