Drum Map Port/Channel blank [Solved with update]
Hi, I just started having a problem with drum maps. I have used them successfully in X3 and I thought they were working in Platinum as well. Today I loaded a Project and the drums were silent. I noted in the Drum Map that the Port/Channel section was blank. If I reset one of the OutPorts (even to the same device) the Port/Channel became populated properly. I repeated this with both a new Project and my older Projects. It seems constant. Have I setup a wrong preference or something? Thanks

In a fix released with Everett, a new bug has been introduced. Until the fix is released there is a workaround. Please see this post for the workaround. http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3230840Alternatively if you find that a major problem rollback to Dorchester. BTW welcome to the forums.

Thanks Mike, So this is a known bug. I see that the answer was already in the forum, albeit buried beneath a large pile of angst! The former posting did not come up in a search. It is nice to see a fellow "Mexican" on this forum. I live in Melb. Cheers, Richard

There's quite a few of us Aussies here. I could tell from your Mexican accent. The forum search is pretty aweful but if you go to Google and preface your search by forum.cakewalk or forum: Cakewalk I can never remember which you get pretty good results. Also a bit of angst as you mention, but it's pretty tame by internet standards and a great lot of useful help to be found. Generally a ice bunch of guys and gals.

FWIW the drum map workaround does NOT work for me. I can happily trigger notes from within the drum map/prv and they will sound as they should, but with the transport rolling, I get midi activity but no audio. It's back to Dorchester for me.

I'm going to stay with Dorchester for now. I'm sure a fix is right around the corner.

Just as a matter of interest what work round are you trying Colin?

In my particular case the issue noted in the original post, Port/Channel section blank, has been fixed in Sonar Platinum Everett Update #1. From what I can tell it may have been something overlooked in Everett 64 bit version. Thanks to all for your rapid support, especially the omniscient Mudgel. Maybe we could call it "X4e", or would that be too easy!! Cheers, R
