[SOLVED] Midi EZD2 Drum Loop not allowing a drag

I have a midi drum clip that I put at the beginning of a completed project minus drums. I did a ctl-L to turn on groove clip looping, but it is not allowing me to drag it out across the song. May be I need to paste it in a few times and then do it?

Seems simple enough but I can't get the little icon to show up. IIRC in my first project, once I got the beveled edge it was just click and drag out however far it needed to be?

Weird, i closed out, waited a few hours, came back did same drill. It all worked? No way to verify as to whether I was in smart tool or edit tool at the time. I will mark solved so folks won't rack their brain looking for a solution to a no longer existent problem.
