My Daughter Caitlin...

wanted to sing a song by Sara Evans called, "A Little Bit Stronger". Now the thing about my daughter is she just likes to have fun singing and doesn't record often. I think in the past 10 years she's recorded 5, maybe 6 songs if even that? I mean she sings all the time but getting her in front of  the mic is a completely different story.  Anyway I just wanted to put this one up there as a proud Father and brag ... just a little.  I do wish she'd take it more seriously but what can one do? She is in college for nursing studying to become an RN and that is her priority. Smart move actually.

Sounds great George! Tell Caitlin she did an excellent job! Being a nurse doesn't mean she has to stop singing with you...

I think the fact that she is treating her non-musical career as a priority shows she has a wise head on those young shoulder. She can always come back to music at any time

+1 sknkrotron. At least she'd have a career to fall back on. Right now she's just having fun with singing and music should be fun.

Great vocal work there. She should record more; nice phrasing. Maybe a little high in the mix?

Thanks jdf. Funny you should say that. People use to always tell me the vocals were to low in my mixes. Especially when it came to my own. I guess over the years I headed in the opposite direction but better louder than not loud enough. So I've been told anyway.

I couldn't listen to this track (workplace blocks it), but will listen at home. My daughter(s) also love to sing and (unlike you), I can make them sit in front of the mic (they're 9 & 7)....lol. So, do I call you Patre or Mesh? Lol. I'll stick with Patre so I don't confuse myself which BTW isn't all that hard to do.  9 and 7? Sheesh. Time sure does fly by. Glad all is well and yeah... at that age I'll bet you can't keep them off the mic. Hope they continue to keep the interest. Check out Studiotrax when you have some time. There's a whole new forum in place. Great seeing you Patre.

You must be one proud father!  A kid with a natural talent in singing and a desire to help people in need are two impressive traits!  And as far as the vocals being to loud, I can relate.  All of the tracks I've recorded with my kids end up heavy on the vocal end.  I guess we want to hear more of what we love in the mix.  Great work!

Nice!   Sounds pretty good here from where I am.  She definitely seems to have the right tone and phrasing for the style.   IOW, she should sing more.  Into the mic, that is.
