Use all screens/monitors for zoom/display/full-button function

Use all screens/monitors  for zoom/display/full-button function

I want to be able to click a button in the sonar window that will expand it to fit all screens/monitors.

Screensets should be able to do this. But no joy for this young boy.

If I'm jot mistaken that's a function of the Windows OS not Sonar.

As far as I know, there is no option in windows to expand a window across selected multiple screens.

As with all things windows, modifications can be created, limitations can be exceeded.

So, I have two monitors, it would be nice to not have to yank the corners of the main sonar window to get to to span both.

Move the sonar window to the position you want across both screens and then set up your tracks and busses. Next save it as a template like "Normal 2" or something. Now when you create a new project, you will have your window set u the way you want.

    Unmaximise SONAR window
Drag it so it goes across the monitor divide line
    Hit F11

    Good move.

I had not tried the full screen ploy.

This hides the title bar, and the taskbar on the left monitor.

Sadly, pressing F11 again shows the task bar, hiding the collapsed multidock.

But, way better than dragging corners.

    Thanks.

I still want it as a button, and to be able to save window settings with screen sets.

True, but it also could be a function of the GPU drivers. It's possible that some graphics cards might be supplied with software that allows this facility. I've never seen it though.

The windows gui is just a number of library routines.

They exist to create a standardized interface.

So application developers can use such as the file open/close dialogs without having to code them, as they all used to before.

Unfortunately the standard is not always reasonable.

The use of the routines is not required. And they can be modified.
