Local Storage of Downloadables

I'm about to do some hard drive housekeeping with an eye toward decreasing local storage needs since I'll be moving from a desktop to a notebook in the near future. I was just looking at the My Products page and saw download links for everything, but I have a few questions...
  1. I started with Sonar 8.5 Studio, but upgraded to X1 Producer (eventually, Extended). If I (for instance) want to install X1 Producer Extended, can I do it by just downloading the X1 installer or do I have to download/install everything from 8.5 first followed by the a, b, c, d, etc. patches?
  2. Will these older products every show up in CCC?
  3. I seem to remember with some of these older products I had to provide both serial numbers and activation codes, but on My Products page, there are only serial numbers:
    • Are the activation codes generated at some point during installation?
    • Should I maintain a record of the activation codes I already have or will I get new ones if I reinstall on my new computer?

There is no requirement to install 8.5 before X1. Read the update notes for X1, there is no need to install all the updates, some of the updates are cumulative. The only time Cakewalk required a previous version of SONAR installed was the download upgrade from 8.0 to 8.5. All other upgrades have been full retail versions of SONAR.

Cakewalk has not said either way. I do not believe there is a rush write new installers for legacy products. Cakewalk has recently updated installers for DPro and Rapture expansion packs. That may be due to the release of RPro.

I looked at my legacy products page and most everything has a serial number and registration code. All the credentials needed to install should be listed with each items. There are some items that only require a serial number.

Thanks, scook. On that note, I'll go free up some hard drive space.

Just in case you may ever want to reinstall things again, consider getting a portable 500GB drive. Downloading those files again would not be "quick at all" by comparison.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Thanks, mettelus. I did have all this stuff on an external 1Tb drive, but I was running out of space. :)
