Yes,  I use loads of PreSonus gear (including FireStudio) and it works fine with Sonar Plat in Win7.

Recheck that.  I had a Firepod and the drivers were not supported with Windows 7.  Presonus took it off of the market after Windows 7 came out because of so many problems people were having getting it to work with the OS.

If you are going to continue to use Windows XP, then the Firepod will work, but if you change to a newer OS, then the Firepod will become a doorstop.  The problem is that Sonar Platinum will not work in Windows XP.

I sold my Firepod on Craigslist to a Windows XP user and purchased a Roland Octa-Capture. What a great decision that was because it workes well in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and soon Windows 10.

The Firestudio is the replacement to the Firepod, that's why the Firestudio is working in Windows 7 and possibly 8.

I would have to disagree. Support was withdrawn for that generation of hardware at Win8, but is still officially supported under Win7.  The last driver release v5.13 specifically states Win7 support for both 32 and 64 bit.

If it's buggy,  that's a different issue. But it does work and is intended to work.

    Karyn,

If the FirePod, FP10 is working for you under Windows 7 then I am glad to hear that. I just know that I had a very difficult time getting it to reconnect to my new Windows 7 OS. I downloaded the drivers several times and have called Prosonus support and checked the forums on many occasions. There were a lot of others having the same problem the same time I was having mine.

Maybe it was just some buggy issues at that time with the drivers.  I finally decided to sell it and I never had problems connecting my audio interface again.   The FirePod, FP10 was a rock solid interface when it was working for me and I enjoyed using it. The FirePod, FP10 became a strain when it wouldn't re-connect after installing Windows 7.

I hope you have much success recording music with it as I did when it was working for me.

    Peace,
