Simple Quartet in C Maj

I composed this song by using Finale Notation software last year. I then imported it into Sonar and gave it a quick mix. This was my second song that I composed with notation software. The song is very simple. But its neat to think that not one instrument was actually played to create those sounds. The strings are all Garritan samples (I have Garritan strings in both Finale and Dimension Pro). It's amazing how far the technology has come in music production.

Cheers

    Hi again Chad,

    god-z
    The song is very simple.

    Simple, but nice

And I'm with you regarding how stuff has moved on over the years...

I like how each part fits together. I tend to just throw stuff into the mix and keep what I like, delete what doesn't fit. I wish I had the skills to do something like this, however simple you may think it is.

    cheers

Thanks Andy. But after listening to it I am feeling like I lowered the volume on the viola too much. Its funny how your perspective changes on your own mixes later.

    Cheers.

There's a lot going for this piece.  It's well arranged, and the melody is pretty and calming.  This is the kind of music that can change one's mood from sour to sweet.  String samples are hard to get right because of the various articulations and all, and this is the only weakness, for me.  Yet, I'm no expert, and this is a good start should you decide to flesh it out more.  Well done.

    All the best,
    Lynn
