Unhide Product in Command Center

Hi again,

Command Center has an option to "hide this product" - which is good to clear out the Dimension Pro and Rapture etc - which are already installed.

Has anyone found out how to get these back if you change your mind?

- Reaper x64
- 16GB RAM
- Asus P8z77-V mobo - using the integrated Intel graphic card (HD4000)
- MOTU Ultralite AVB audio interface
I usually use ASIO set at 64 or 128 samples
er - that's it I think...

There is a way to get them back, admittedly it is not super elegant. An easier way to unhide products is on our radar.

  1. Click the settings button (little gear in the upper right corner)
  2. From the settings page click the 'Logout' button
  3. Say OK to the dialog
  4. C3 will restart and you'll need to log back in again

Thanks for that Willy.

I was going to try that, but it says something about losing all your settings. I wasn't sure if it would still know that I have Platinum installed when I logged back in.

It's fine now. I'll hide these things again - I just wanted to knowhow to get them back if I ever need them...

EDIT: Actually it did "forget" that I installed a couple of things. I only installed SONAR, docs, and the Anderton FX. The SONAR was still "green" - but the other two were "red". I just re-installed them.

Also - it must have these things cached somewhere because it didn't need to download the docs and tutorials again, it just extracted the file. (I'd deleted tutorials myself - so it definitely has them cached somewhere.)

On the C3 settings there's a location path for downloaded files.

DOH! I didn't pay attention to that. Oh well, at least we've all got each other's backs ;-)

Gotta say, this is a head-scratcher.  Why this ships with no convenient toggles for installation... I sure hope the primary programs are more ready for prime time.

Edit:  aaagh... now it's rolling forward without asking me where to install content.  It's not that hard guys.  Looks like another night of registry fun and games.

Beware of the 'workaround' suggested by Willy - I logged out and Command Center turned all my installed products apart from SONAR itself red. The only way to reinstate them seems to be to reinstall through CC.

Ralf posted the path to the C3 XML config files here, where you can manually change the hidden state of different products by changing entries like "HiddenNotInstalled" to "NotInstalled" etc.

I don't know who the hell is in charge of designing cakewalks software but would put money its the coders.  Now don't get me wrong, the people writing this stuff are incredible.  But the average user don't think that way.  **** I have been using cakewalk ever since Voyetra went by by.  Hire user friendly computer VP to make things consumer friendly/adaptable.  Command Center is a Joke so far.  So do I have to reinstall everything thru CC now?  Redownload, etc. etc. Concept is good having many years of add ons the Command Center should recognize and take what you have in your directory and apply to the newest version of say Sonar x3 and ya have a ton of purchased ad ons sitting in your x2 directory, Command center should recognize and install in your new version.  Another thing is when installing CC did I miss the screen asking where to install?  Thanks.  Sorry for the rant.

Re: Unhide Product in Command Center 2015/07/01 15:06:34 (permalink)
I like Cakewalk Command Center but it still messes up.

I spent hours last night trying to get the "Platinum Prochannel Package" to install and it would give an error every time. I uninstalled SONAT PLATINUM and a bunch of Pro Channel plugins to try to get it to work, cleaned registry, clean install, uninstalled X3c in case of a conflict, cleaned all of X3c out of the registry, CCleaner etc. etc. No results.

And the random turning red of products needs to be fixed too.

Come on Cakewalk. Make it work. You are with Gibson now and should have some extra financial support?
Please make things work correctly and smoothly. There has been too many years of half way working. Let's get it right here. SONAR Platinum is really nice. Let's complete that notion please. Yes, this is an effort to put some pressure on you. It is time to step it up on another level moving forward as a company.

I am extremely good at troubleshooting with computer building and software. It should not be this difficult.

If I find a solution I will let you all know.

Love me some SONAR and the Bakers but straight up, it's time to step it up!
Lance

"Hidden Products" are displayed with a check box on the Options tab in Settings. Uncheck the box and save to redisplay on the main page.
