Wow! I only have 6 more manually selected updates to install
Now, I may be cranky because it took 5 calls to my ISP this morning to get this far. The solution to DL problems occurs this month when I get fiber. Even so, I realize that these 'updates' are 'optional' but one at a time? really ??? This is a new 'registration option' with the 'shop', more or less, so appears to be actually obligatory. I bought in back in Dec (prior to release) as I really wanted a X4, but now have Pro. I'm very unhappy about the amount of redundant data included in the packages just to address a registrations issue for packages I just installed? Give me the monolithic option that will run overnight (at 1Gbs to an autonomous USB3 drive. I'll consider the install order as time becomes available. I'm afraid I'll be preparing for the next update before I even get a chance to spend more than 16 hrs with this one. And this is my holiday weekend to spend with Sonar. I'm doing maintenance instead. Please explain how "optional" future updates will be?

I do them manually from my account, thus enabling me to download as many files simultaneously as I choose. For this exercise its worth changing you browser download folder to coincide with your CCC download folder As small ones download I install them using the CCC. It immediately looks for and recognises that the file is in the download folder. Installation sadly is still one at a time. But with this regimen by the time the largest file is downloaded everything is already installed and ready to go. It's just a compromise, but if you've got to sit there might as well be for the least time necessary.

I do think that there may be a few pain points that need to be addressed with the command center. As a 30 year veteran of all things IT, however, I can imagine that it is quite a task getting all the various developers ready for each release. Putting them all into one automated install would require more than a few pizza lunches and maybe a Foosball or Air Hockey table and an X-box. I would guess I am about 3/4 of the way through this update for an estimated total of 75 minutes. I don't think it is your download speed that is the issue, but I do agree that running each update one at a time is boring.

Hi, actually that is why I'm doing my ~3 month review and update of the CW forums, recent posts and I post my experience summary updates and questions. I can usually arrange one weekend to play, one weekend record/write, one weekend to update quickly, as required. I rotate through FLS, BiaB, Sonar. I'm pretty sure this Sonar update will be required, yet still won't register my previous VST purchases. (No lie. Even the manual DL store lost my Rapture purchase and now want me to re-install a new R v1.0. I'm considering my options.) This was my weekend to play with Sonar. I'm disappointed as I'm not learning what I'd hoped to understand. My SoundCenter DLis about 60% done, so maybe dinner for me, before the next one ?? I'll probably be asleep before they all get installed so I can even consider what else needs updates after a 'optional' Sonar update. I've actually setup a 1GB RAM drive for just such junk as tmp DL files, install junk, etc. It works real well with extractions and encryption and remains volatile. Hey, 77% - I'm eating now!

I would love to go to that link, mudgel. Unfortunately I cant make it work even when I copy and paste the whole thing. One thing that would be helpful would be if it did not need to rescan after each individual install. And all those read-me files that pop up, some way to get back to them because when I am installing, I am installing. They are all lost now.

Am I incorrect in understanding this as perhaps a request for installation log files, including termination msgs?

Just a typo in the word findpost. All fixed.

Oh, baby. That next DL is going to be soo sweet. My Help Doc's are just over 50%. Praise the "word" of your choice. Of, course, I can't actually see how many moreDL's I might need to try to queue just tonight. I think that its just 3, but I'm frequently wrong about these things. I put on my vinyl "It's a Beautiful Day", but White Bird will wait until after a bit ... Great, 62% now.

Onto the Anderton Collection. Finished just one side of Firesign Theatres 'Everything You Know Is Wrong'. 'Rust Never Sleeps' for this DL.

Hey, I got an idea, since I can't run Sonar while C3 does it's biz, I'm going to switch from the vinyl to FL Studio and play with Harmor some more. My opinion is that it is a lot of fun and runs right now, while I'm waiting on the powers that be. Rest assured that I will report once the Sonar update is complete and I can once again move forward with learning Sonar and verifying bug fixes like the whole drum map updates. Background DL is no problem for me (if warned accurately!!). But if I have to hold C3'ss hand at every step, I'm easily amused and difficult to distract sometimes. "Time is too short for those who love" Anderton is 80% complete. Joy!

CCC will probably be updated this month and maybe it will do it all at once. But don't worry the ccc installation will be supplied in 14 packages... ;)

If I had it to do over again, I would listen to Tommy. Haven't done that in years. It was kind of my Sgt Pepper.. Knew it all from front to back. Or now that I think about it, maybe the White Album... music to download by

I must confess to actually having both, though I would have to check. I'm mostly cassette tape guy actually. Anybody remember Dr. Demento? I've got CD's and tapes. Thanks for the response. I just got the Impulses installed. FLS was running sweet before I needed to put oyster sauce on the steak. Just another day, as they say. My next choice is ???? Digital Labs, and I'm almost complete, I can only hope but the end of the tunnel seems to be in sight. I'm hoping so because I'm picking my NFlix dinner film and Sonar will wait.

Yeah, a completionist success and everything appears to be green. Per, 'Life in the Slaw Lane', "It's a Garden Out There". Time 9:34. Let's see how Sonar run's tomorrow morning. Please say, I don't have to re-create any preferences because they might be in the reg and now registered differently. Do I need to re-scan VST's for instance? Maybe shift folder destinations? Just preparing for tomorrow.

Yup. do a manual vst scan and away you go.. Of course you may have it set to scan on startup. That gets annoying to me, even with just 156 plugins. Ps - There's Klingons on the starboard bow....... Scrape em off Jim!

Has this thread got anything to do with Staff View or Notation fixes (or anything for that matter) ? Good . . . I don't think to much time and energy should be spent on those things. I grew a garden once when I was on the farm, I didn't plant any pumpkin though, shame . . . I like pumpkin . . . the carrots and lettuce were a raging success though . . . wait a minute . . . I'm rambling . . . oh well, at least I'm in the right place it seems. Whoops . . . there goes the kettle . . . I'm out of here . . .

m.letcher@q.com Do I need to re-scan VST's for instance? Maybe shift folder destinations? Just preparing for tomorrow.
I would highly recommend a VST reset AND re-scan. You do it from Preferences. After installing SONAR do a reset AND rescan. Rescan alone is not enough. - Launch SONAR and then go to Edit > Preferences
- Navigate to File - VST Settings
- Underneath Scan Options, place a check mark next to "Rescan Failed Plug-ins" and "Rescan Existing Plug-ins"
- Click the [Reset...] button
- You will be presented with the message: "This will reset configuration settings for all your VST plug-ins to defaults. VST Plug-ins will be unavailable until a VST Scan is performed. Any custom configuration settings will be lost. Are you sure you want to do this?".
- Click [Yes]
- Click the [Scan] button
- At this point, the background VST scanner will scan through your list of plug-ins.
- When the background scanner is complete, you can reapply any custom settings to your plug-ins.
IMPORTANT: After going through this process, remove the check marks next to "Rescan Failed Plug-ins" and "Rescan Existing Plug-ins", especially if you have "Automatic Background Scan" enabled. Leaving all of these options configured simultaneously could lead to a continuous scan loop.
