Tuesday Morning-Pogues Cover

https://thedigitalpoet55.wordpress.com/2015/07/02/tuesday-morning/
And now for something completely different-this 2010 track which I never finished to my likening and as part of my remaster series, is a cover of The Pogues: Tuesday Morning.  Alice is on lead vocals and bass...it's quite experimental...and yes I know the tom is on the wrong side lol...when I froze the track I put in in the right channel...I don't have the VI installed!!  It's a left handed drummer lol.

I would not have guessed this was a Pogues cover.  Sounds more poppy than their usual stuff.

I like Alice's voice (and your production treatment).  The drums are mostly great I think, but perhaps you could lay off that darn crash a bit. ;)  When you hit it, it's always for several quarter notes in a row and all at full volume.  I'm finding it really distracting when it comes in.

All told, this is a great little recording, and a fun song, well performed and produced.  I like it a lot.

What a nice change Ben! I liked it. Great mix overall...I second Walts thoughts on the crash...seems just a bit much to me. Nice! Your vocalist dies a nice job too!

    Hi Ben,

I wasn't familiar with the original, so I checked it out on youtube. It is actually quite a poppy song itself and not quite what I expected from The Pogues.

So, you're cover is quite fitting and close to the original.

One small thing I would have done is panned the backing vocals away from centre. Small thing, and what I am hearing is just fine.

    cheers

Hi Andy...thanks for being a fan :)...sorry I'm not listening to any of your work...or any others for that matter...I've ruined my brain, I just don't seem to be getting into new music like I use too...middle age maybe...probably something to do with my ADHD and having the concentration span of a gnat...even on ADHD medication lol...

yea the backing vocals probably should have been stereo panned...I'm just starting to realize a second set of ears are good...even with my skills...I keep making mistakes...albeit little ones.

    Thanks again though everybody...peace.
