    Hi Matt,

Yeah, the song builds well, right through the track.

I see you're a drummer... They come across really well, although I'm no expert on mic'ing and mixing real drums. I have had experience in that area, and I used a simple arrangement of a stereo overhead pair of condenser mics, a SM58B on the snare and an AKG dedicated kick drum mic (can't remember which model). I'm guessing your setup is a bit  more comprehensive than that...

Nice track by the way... Might even be EPIC

    cheers

    Cheers Andy,
Believe it or not the drums are just samples. I've mixed and messed with them etc but just played the drum beats via the midi keyboard (made up the beats of course - being a drummer). I have done lots of band recordings in the past but you are often at the mercy of the room! Micing a kit can be a bit of a pain sometimes too!

It's interesting to hear you two talk about the drums because I thought that they were the only thing out of place in this tune.  The music itself is rather delicate, yet the drums seem to be wanting to support something a bit heavier than the synths.  Like a ripping guitar track or lead synth.  I would like to hear percussion tracks rather than a heavy drum track in this, but this is only my opinion.  The overall song is good enough to experiment with if you are so inclined.  I hope to hear more of this should you decide to make any changes.

    All the best,
    Lynn

    Hi Lynn,

Have you ever listened to Cocteau Twins? Big drums in delicate music

    Edit:-

Sounds like the base of a tune here perhaps with the vocals it will gel.
