How to output 8 ch's from Focusrite Pro 40

I have a Focusrite Pro 40 and Sonar Platinum .I need to know                                                                                                 how to output each of the 8 channels from the pro 40
To an 8 track tape recorder. To make a tape master.  All I get is stereo pairs.

There is a setting in preferences that shows outputs as mono. Click that.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I had this same issue while trying to mic a drum set with 8 mics in. I gave up on it. I did set my sapphire 40 pro to mono but I had no luck getting sonar to see the channels as 8 mono channels.  Sonar still detected them as stereo pairs.

Has anyone been able to get Sonar Plat to see 8 mono channels. with the Focusrite Sapphire 40.
I would like to know how you did it.

Regardless of them being stereo pairs you can still send a signal to the left side and another to the right side.

Create busses for each output and pan 1 hard left and another hard right for each of the stereo pairs

Then when you send those to your outputs you will have a mono track coming out of each output.

+1, another option is to pan the mono tracks hard left and hard right when sending them to an output stereo pair (no buss required). Just be sure they are truly mono.

[Side note] If you click on "Input FX" in MixControl and select "Router" you can specify "DAW 1" (left) and "DAW 2" (right), etc. to each output pair as well (which also function as busses, i.e. everything in SONAR routed to Mon 1 show up as DAW 1/2). I only have 8 outputs (which show up as DAW 1-8 in Mix Control), and 7/8 are the SPDIF out which I do not use.

Hi. I believe that you can assign "friendly" names to your outputs in SONAR preferences, as well as mono outputs. I do not have Focusrite, but I believe that would not matter, as long as it is in SONAR preferences you set this. Name different outputs, names that reflect what files are going through each output.
    Best of luck.
