So it turns out I've always had ringside seats for the Macy's fireworks

I've lived in this apartment for God knows how long, and yet it's only tonight that I'm realizing that if I stick my head out the window and look to the left on July 4th I have ringside seats for the Macy's fireworks on the East River. I've always heard them banging away and thought meh, I can't be bothered to go somewhere to see them. Looked out the window tonight and there they were, right in front of my face. I also just recently realized that I can see the Williamsburg bridge when I'm standing next to my stove. I really ought to pay more attention to my surroundings.

That being said, once you've seen one firework display you've seen them all.

Actually this all reminds me of a recurring dream that I have every few months or so and have done since I was in my early 20's. In it, I find a door in my apartment that I've never opened, and it turns out that on the other side is this whole new "wing" of the apartment that I never knew existed, and it's usually a huge big sprawling affair with loads of new rooms and an amazing roof terrace and the like. I'm walking through thinking "wow, how in the hell did I not know all this was here?" Major disappointment when I wake up.

Not true!  Three years ago there were supposed to be five simultaneous fire works displays around the San Diego Harbor (the video says three probably because they couldn't see the others).  The entire show was going to be between 15 and 18 minutes long (depending on which information you believe) and set to music, but ALL five displays went off at once due to a "technical glitch."

Love fireworks, but resigned to watching them on TV. None really big near me and the gunpowder kills my chest

Magnificent dream ... you would want to focus on what you missed that was there, not the result! Guess where your creativity is? In that one room, but you shoot it down every time when you turn and leave?

Dreams are awesome ... they always tell you EXACTLY what you need and want to see!

That's weird. I keep having dreams where Sharke wanders into my wing of the apartment. I don't mind, you understand. It's just that he leaves an empty pizza box on the table. My family will get up the next morning and ask me if I ate the rest of the pizza. I try to tell them it was Sharke, but they don't seem convinced.

Actually I think it's really just as simple as me wanting a bigger apartment.

It's an imposter Sharke, I would never eat pizza.

That's what my kids said. They also pointed out that I still had a slice in my hand.
