Just a quick word.
I hope the community and the Bakers realise that when someone who makes music for a living like myself turns up the volume on a bug or an issue, it's not to be an a-hole, but to keep the factory turning out the goods on time. TV producers don't want to hear how your software made them miss their broadcast deadline.
I really appreciate the willingness of this awesome group and particularly the Bakers to jump in and fix things. However, sometimes the pressures and the deadlines are just too much to still have to deal with a bug that was not there the day before.. At least Cakewalk listens and communicates to it's users on a day-to-day basis (as is again the case today, thanks John and Dan), which or more than most DAW makers can claim. Compliments to the team that makes what I consider the only DAW worth using. Regards, Ludwig

As someone inching ever closer to semi-pro/pro status you will never hear me rag on someone reporting a legitimate issue. I appreciate it because I bumble about specific areas of the program but am always expanding the things I do/use to accomodate whatever needs and requirements pop up (I am currently right in the middle of one of those little test phases). I also don't get to update as often and obviously don't like updating then getting bitten on the arse by some random newly introduced quirk. The only thing I take umbrage with are serial complainers who go out of their way to root out very specific "problems" that aren't even within the scope of normal useage whether through maliciousness or unreasonable expectations (and then scream bloody murder about it). Those are the folks who get everyone's (including the Baker's) dander up and create an environment of skepticism about even legit problem reports. If I stumble across something unreasonably wacky that I think the forum and Bakers should know about I'll say something but politely in the interest of a) making sure others are aware of it (for testing/fixes) and b) finding possible workarounds from the massive braintrust here (and sometimes I am indeed just going about things the worng way so it's a learning experience). Point is when I see you (yes you, LJB) specifically saying something is broken or large swaths of other experienced users pointing out a problem I take heed of it and appreciate the heads up. It helps us all make appropriate decisions for our own installations and workflows as well as hopefully makes the Bakers aware of the issue so they can fix it (which seems to be happening very quickly these days). So keep it up and if anyone faults you well... whatever. It's the internet. As to the "problem" dredgers, malcontents and folks who cannot be bothered to learn the program (or even basic manners)... well I'm sorry. I find myself having less and less time to even read your posts let alone offer up possible solutions and workarounds. Especially considering we seem to be in the Golden Age of Sonar and there seems to be a lot of loooooooong reaches being made to find faults. I would have much more respect for such activities if you just outright stated "I am hunting down every bug, quirk and lack of functionality in Sonar to report them and push the program forward". Faux angst and outrage is soooooo late 90's. It's not good for one's physical or mental health either. Peace.

I think anyone that's been around here a while knows you're the real deal Ludwig. I hope your problem gets sorted quickly. IS there an option for a roll back to an earlier version without the bug?

I think a real bug being reported here and able to be confirmed is a service to all of us. It may get moved or posted in the problem reports forum and if the reporter wants the problem fixed will send CW a report too. Beep wrote the best response and I fully endorse it. LJB if anyone gives you flack for reporting a bug I will do my job and take care of it. No one that reports a bug should be attacked for doing that. Its a very important function that the rest of us rely on.

Exposing real bugs helps everybody. And I feel for you, LJB. One of the problems w/ the monthly updates is you don't know which one will mess up your system, unlike the yearly release which could co-exist with the older version. I never did paid work on a new release until I was sure it was working. Can't really do that anymore. Just like anything, there is a plus and negative to any method.
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Not only that, he came up with the idea of using a plug-in's sidechain to record a track output to another. That's pretty cool. Silktone turning it into a plug-in was equally cool.

Hi Ludwig, We definitely appreciate users who are heavily active in production reporting issues to us. We understand that it takes effort to troubleshoot and log issues when you have production deadlines. Regarding the issue you reported, so far the assessment is that this is not new to Foxboro since Dan was able to reproduce it even in X3. According to the report it has to do with grouped buttons and freezing tracks. Nothing relevant that we know of has changed in this specific area in Foxboro, so its possible that you are running into it based on a specific sequence of operations. Is this accurate? We will look into this issue for the next update since it is not a regression. thanks, Noel
