Time is always smpte? (Scroll bar arrow keys)

I rarely have a use for smpte time, but it seems that the scroll bar arrow keys are set to follow smtp?    Wouldn't it be good to have the visual display units set to what the user uses?     In older sonars, somehow I could use the arrow keys and move exactly a quarter note at a time (don't recall whether that was a configuration or a default).   But in platinum I have not found a way to scroll other than by the irritating smpte units.    Is this a feature request?  User ignorance?

FYI SMTP is email (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

    I think you mean SMPTE?
If you want to move by a certain unit check out the nudge feature.

Yes, i meant smpte!   And I don't want to nudge anything, just shift the display:   when the window shifts a predictable and useful unit, then you can input notes in PRV very quickly by holding the mouse still in one place on the screen and using the keyboard arrow keys:  Click, arrow, click, arrow, click arrow, gives three rapid equal notes; with a small movement up or down you can easily and very quickly draw scales and arpeggios of equal note durations this way.

However, it is one of the tricks that Sonar Platinum has made unavailable, because of the shift issue being in Smpte time unrelated to bars and beats.

If I'm understanding correctly, you're wanting the arrow keys (on your keyboard) to jump to a user-defined interval.
Currently, the amount that's scrolled with each arrow key press is dependent on the zoom level (not SMPTE time).

Jim, it's fine, to an extent, if it changes with the zoom, but no setting seems to have any relation to bars and beats, and that's what I want.    When I did some experimentation, it seemed to follow exactly the smpte settings, and yes changing with the zoom.    If that's not right, I'd like to know what it is.     Again, what I want is a predictable shift that is relevant to bars and beats (AS IT USED TO BE ... one more thing that the older sonar had!)
