[Solved] Master track

Hi lads
Is there a way to view all tracks in a single master type track?
let me put it this way.  You know how you can use automation to raise or lower volume in a single track.  Well supposing you wanted to raise or lower the volume of all the tracks at the same time.   It would be handy if you could view all the tracks in a single "master track".  Then your volume adjustment only needs to be done on that master track.  Is such a thing possible?
Hope I'm explaining this properly.

SONAR ships with a normal.cwt (the default project template) which has a predefined master bus. It is possible to designate any bus as the master by right-clicking the bus and selecting "Set as Default Bus." Any tracks added after setting the default bus will be have their output set to the bus. To change existing tracks to the bus, select the tracks, hold the CTRL key and set the output in one of the selected tracks.

It is also possible to quick group track faders and make adjustments by selecting the tracks and holding the CTRL key while adjusting one of the selected faders. Also faders can be grouped by right-clicking the faders and assigning them to a group.

    Hey Skook
The second part of your reply might be more what I'm looking for.  You see I'm not trying to work on the Master bus. Using the fader on a bus doesnt give the automation control of just increasing the chorus volume etc.
A friend of mine uses Cuebase and he can view all of his tracks in a master track (not a bus).  So he can add automation to this "master track" as opposed to a bus.  Perhaps this cant be done in Sonar but i thought I'd ask.  Thanks for the reply anyway skook.

SONAR does not have VCA groups.

Assigning your tracks to a bus would accomplish the same thing you are after. You assign the outputs to a bus and then you can automate the volume of the buss just like a track.

    Hey Reg
does that mean you can view the master bus  in the "horizontal" mode like a track.  As in add the master to the Track view?  That would certainly be what I'm looking for alright.
    Thanks Reg.

Yes, in the track view at the bottom of the tracks pane is the bus pane. If you don't see it click on the upside down triangle to unhide it. In the edit filter for your desired bus select automation from the menu and choose what you want to automate. It works similar to track automation but there's no wave form.

Sonar had this in its very first version Sonar 1. It was an innovation then but now we take it for granted. If other DAWs are adopting this idea it is new to them and very old to us. However, all Sonar buses can have automation on them.
