Adagio, from Symphony #9 by Jerry Gerber

I'm posting the 3rd movement of my new symphony.  I may make some minor changes, I've got to live with it for a few weeks.  I've also included a link to the score.

Wonderful music, Jerry. Reminded me of Vaughan Williams somewhat; also, perhaps, the faintest touch of Durufle. These were real singers I'm assuming? What what were they singing?

    Thanks Michael!
Those are samples of real singers, from the Requiem Pro library running under Kontakt.  They're singing Latin words and syllables; they have no literal meaning, I choose them for their musicality and sound, not their literal meaning.

    Hi Jerry,

This is my second classical tune this week... I'm really stretching myself here

It is interesting seeing (hearing) what other peeps are creating with their digital equipment. You do a great job with MIDI-fying VSL.

Composition kept me hooked too. Nice score. I like the different "feelings" generated throughout the piece, which is what music is all about

    cheers

Well... no big surprises here.    And I mean that in a good way.      Nicely orchestrated, dynamics are working well, great stereo width.   I liked the pizz parts near the middle - nicely percussive.

Oh, and those little singing dudes and dudettes in Kontakt have good feel and a great sense of pitch!

PS... good to have you back around these parts.

very much enjoyed this Jerry, yes it's in the English pastoral idiom but that's a good thing!the vocals gave it an almost Bartokian quality. the skill needed to do this is immense. bravo!
