However, there appear to be NO presets ....which renders it useless...

Not sure about the demo but the full version will install the correction files in your Documents\Sonarworks folder. Just need to point thee vst plugin there to pull up the curve you want to use.

I love this because they did implement one of my suggestions. The standard curve on the AKG240 Studios seemed a bit heavy in the low end but you could not reduce this. You could add low end but not remove low end. Now you can and I have them sounding very similar my nearfield monitors. Great update Sonarworks!

Purrrfect Audio DAW here.  Wow!...

That folder opened when I hit the presets button but there was nothing in it...

However I did realize that it stated it needed to restart, and I haven't done
that yet...

Hey guys,

We've added some new functionality behind the scenes which needs some work from our servers. Namely - the new average and your individual profiles get downloaded automatically from our server. Sometimes it takes more time than anticipated (especially when everyone is rushing in to get the newest version), so some patience is required.

Drop me a message if you need any assistance, I'll be happy to help!

Hi Zo. It does add some latency and explains at the website. Don't know about multiple computers. I reinstalled like Larry did (thanks for the tip, dude) and it's now working. There was a world of difference with the plugin with my AKG 240 Studio phones, but for my Sennheiser 650's it was more subtle. I think there was some improvement, the bass tightening up. They were already really close to my monitors. I'm not sure if the difference is worth the money, but I've got about 3 weeks left to find out.

Email was sent, in case you missed it & or having problems:

After releasing the Reference 3.1 plug-in we noticed that on some computers the installation package behaved in an unexpected manner. Some people couldn't get the new calibration files and weren't able to use the old ones as well. Our developers are working hard right now, so we can sort this out ASAP.

This e-mail will help you do a simple workaround to get the new plug-in up and running!
  • Please make sure you have downloaded and installed the 3.1.7.10 version that was released late on Friday night. You can get it here - http://sonarworks.com/downloads/
  • Upon opening the plugin, please press on the SW logo inside plugin and manually re-activate plugin under "add new product license" using your activation or trial code.
  • If possible, please try to run the activation from inside different DAW so that the activation is requested from a different type of plugin (au/vst/rtas/aax)
  • If the above mentioned does not help, please reinstall the 3.0 version for now and stay tuned for an update.

The Tape-Op review of Sonarworks Reference 3 mentioned $49 as the bottom price but their site has it as $69.  Did the price just go up?

I tried it out on my MTH-M50's and was surprised by how much of an EQ change the plugin made.

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up about the Tape-Op review. Ill check it out. About five days into the trial now and I'm not sure if I'll get this or not. there is a big difference with my AKG 240 Studio phones but a much smaller difference with my Sennheiser 650 HD's. Even then though I think the plugin helps get rid of a slight bit of boominess. Either way, the 650 Hd's are very close to my monitors.

$69 is what I paid. I had been waiting for the KRK average curve and what a difference this makes! My mixes translate much better now. I had gotten used to keeping the low end in check because the KRKs have such a big bump there but with Sonarworks, I can just mix the lows by ear and if it sounds good there, it translates well to other systems. There was also a bump in the high end that made my mixes sound a little dull but Sonarworks fixed that too. I'm a big fan!

Peace!
Daniel

i tired it and the it reallly kills the high on my dT 990 pro , i know the 990 has a tendancey t accentuate the highs witch gives exellent precision on reverbs and coutours of sounds ...

it's even darked than my genelecs ARC 'ed .....

Will do furthor test but with a small editing of the curve i ended up with some real close to mymonitors ..
