Weird WAV import problems in Sonar 8

I've been a longtime Sonar user. I've had to switch PCs in the middle of a project (my old PC ran Sonar 8.5). I don't want to learn a new interface mid project, so I've installed Sonar 8 on a 64 bit Windows7 PC (using a FocusRite 18i8 card).  Everything seems fine, but when I go to import wav files into a track, the files import into my Audio folder, but do not show up on the track.  I notice I am able to import and see the sample content (Metronome Groove Clips) which are 64 bit 44K mono, but any WAV files I create myself (using Sound Forge or whatever) will not display in the track. (Although when I check the Audio folder they are there). Unfortunately, SoundForge 11 installed in this PC is not letting me save out any bitrate higher than 32, so I am unable to create any 64 bit files to see if that is a factor.
 
Can someone please help me figure out what's going on?

    I did more research and realized what was happening - the files are importing, but because of some time-stamp issue they are importing offscreen to the right (around the 5 minute mark) so i do not see them unless I scrool way to the right (then I have to drag each one back to the beginning).
     
    Can someone please tell me how to turn this "time stamp placement" feature off, so my wav files import in the position of my cursor (as I pretty much want all the time)?

    There is an option in preferences to "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp." I am not sure where it would be in SONAR 8 settings but should be easy to find by searching the help.
