TTS-1

I'm using a V-S 20 with Guitar Tracks 4 and trying to figure out how to use the TTS-1 synth in the MIDI Backing Track without a keyboard. The User Handbook suggests that this is possible by using the Piano Roll function but I can't work out how to go about it on this model.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Creating MIDI tracks in the PRV without a MIDI input device can be tedious. Even the cheapest MIDI keyboard will help. Here are some older videos about TTS-1 and PRV. Hopefully the GT4 PRV is similar. I have not worked with it.
