Getting Music Creator 7 to change/remember my soft-synth settings

Hi y'all. I have been merrily working away with MC7 using an external MIDI device for sound, via my Roland Duo-capture EX. This works well enough but sometimes I get curious about soft-synths, in particular the TTS-1. I found a Youtube video that showed me how to use the TT-S and I created a new track using it as the source. I selected an instrument, over-driven guitar, and copy and paste from another MIDI track. I start playing the track and it snaps back to 'piano'. I found if I changed the track to guitar while it was playing, I got guitar, but as soon as it stopped it would snap back to piano again.

As for the other soft-synth, I can make a track, copy and paste midi into it, and it works fine. However, the next time I start the program those tracks are silent even though the meters are showing activity. When I click on the track output settings, they have all reverted to Duo-capture EX out! What gives?

How are you selecting the patch? It should be done in the track pane, not the synth GUI.
Choose the bank and patch there.
The other problem, I don't know.

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
    Everything is better with pie.

Thanks. I was able to open a previous project and have my chosen instruments show up when I opened the TTS-1, I still had to manually set the output in the track pane though.
