I am drooling over this one

The demos are fascinating, as is the technology behind this: I want it. But alas, $$$ are not allocated for this luxury.

And I already have several wonderful virtual pianos....but still....

Same here. I got 4 w/ Komplete 7 and K10 came w/ 4 different ones. Any one of them would have been fine for my purposes.

Maybe there's a need for a Steinway Compressor Piano Vst? Kill two birds with one stone.

400 USD is a lot for pianos - ok 8 pianos.
Maybe there's a market in there for (primarily) solo pianists, but it sure is $$$!

First, it did not knock my socks off sound wise. Second (and I understand English may not be their native language) their site is riddled with typos and incorrect usage. Goodby, Mr. Chips.

When I was in the studio business in the 70s, before virtual instruments, many producers chose to record at one place versus the others based on the piano. It was not always clear to me why they liked one instrument more than another. Just personal taste, I guess. Most small-to-medium studios would have only one piano, and would live or die (metaphorically) based on their ability to attract these "piano shoppers." So now you can have 20 pianos in your house, I think you should do it.

I just clicked on the link above and now I know who this is. I have dealt with them, in the past, and I would be very cautious about spending the kind of money they are asking for the package you are looking at.

Just make sure you know exactly what you are getting. If you are in question about anything be sure to ask before you buy.

I did have issues with the product I received and the issues could not be fixed so I was sent a different product as a replacement. It does not sound anything like the demo and I no longer use it.

That's how these 'character' virtual pianos are positioned. Best example is CineSamples' Piano in Blue, salvaged from a New York recording studio for one final sampling session. This was the piano Glenn Gould used for his first Goldberg Variations and Miles' Kind of Blue. Kind of interesting, given that you can "own" this piano for 100 bux.

Pass. Yes, it's good to have variety, but this one doesn't add anything new to the palette. For 4 bills, you could get yourself eight pianos from SampleTek that are truly different from one another. More if you wait for the next sale.

And no, the pianos in ST3 don't count.

Back when a studio's live room sound was important. Before we began replacing every instrument and using consoles as giant volume knobs. ;)

Nice sounds on the demos, but 4 bills is way too much.

My specific problem is having a ton of pianos, and maybe only the symptom of a deeper issue. Expanding my sublety of expression within a set budget, and no lack of elegant fire power. So many choices that sound fantastic if presented and played properly. Ultimate concert this and that sampled in whatever to die for environment with even more rare microphones to capture it all...

Hasn't lead to anything more productive than turning knobs chasing the sound.

Give me a hardware upright piano and a couple generic mics. Throw in the fire and inspiration of a 16 year old shredder. Would trade every megabux vsti I have in the balance. Results of course may vary. Still think we have gotten somewhere and somewhat off track.

Snap! Past a certain point, which most of us reached years ago, it's not about the equipment. It's about the music. If you don't have that, you got nothin'.

That famous old upright from Abbey Road has been available for awhile now as a sample library. Ditto for the beat-up Baldwin used in Clapton's Layla. Given that every instrument on Sgt. Pepper is now available digitally, that album should have been replicated thousands of times by now.

Funny that no matter how broad the musical palette becomes, that seems to have no bearing on the quality of music produced with it.
