Is there some default for Control Surface time output?

I'm using my iPad and another control surface to track with, that way I can walk into the booth and check levels/hit play/record/whatever...at the console I default to the control surface which DOES NOT have a time/meter display...

Here's the deal I want to see my "now time" on my ipad (using AC-7 and rpt-midi) everything works fine I can control Sonar nicely, BUTTTT the time meter is not displaying anything but 000.00.00.000 even changing it to SMTE/back makes no difference...

Is this just a matter of which controller lands in the scheme first ot is it something else?

I kind of need to time because the vocalist will be able to see when their time to come in rolls around...

Ideas?

Thanks

I'm using SOnar Platinium on a 6 core Lynx Audio machine and a ton of vintage pre-amps/eq's/comps I build for fun and sometimes money, REDD.47/API/Neve I also use the UAD stuff, and also use a Macbook Logic 9 through Apogee...

Nevermind...the FIRST controller gets the time data...deleting the control surface and re-installing it below the iPad fixed it...
